Expectations for Apple's October 22 Event: iPads, Mac Pro, and More

Am I the only one who sees updating the mac air but not the macbook pro at the same time as a scandal! I mean come on that's just trying to sell macbook airs and old/unsold retina macs all in one go but you actually just mess with everyone who would have already bought one, i've been looking elsewhere and can say it's now 50/50 if i will even buy a macbook!

I really hope they get more than just a spec bump considering the HUGE extra wait time for them but i'm guessing we'll see very basic changes mainly swapping out the intel processors and maybe and i'm hoping they add bigger flash drives as standard or expansion slots. Considering the space requirements for a drive expansion would be small it makes no sense not to add one, you only have to realise they include a stupid card reader that never gets used that could be replaced with a new expansion slot that allows apple to sell more space! I mean come on anything audio or video will suck up all your measly 256GB quick. We've gone backwards in most regards on the macbooks recently and it's time to get back to models that can actually be used without the need for dumping everything a stupid mech drive at home.

If it helps I use copy.com rather than Dropbox.. the difference being dropbox puts a copy on your Hdd. Copy leaves a shortcut on the Hdd but not the file! Check it out. I have 100gb of space I have earned through referrals.
 
This is Tuesday, and not Monday? I thought this was on Monday.

EDIT: I just checked the calendar, and the 22nd is indeed Tuesday, NOT Monday.

Uh.... All at the same tine?? Wheres the "more" stuff ??

Al in a small building....

When announced, Apple should tell us the price now of this 'trashcan' ... To really make jt sell Apple should bundle Pro apps, maybe later on say "... Buy now, and receive a discount on 4K display", its DESIGNED for.

Give people some incentive.

As for the next "hobby". Ditch this now,,, its finally been public long enough.

I like wild-cards :)

Software updates please!

*Aperture needs some updates. Just some things I've putting up with for too long.
*iWeb was killed off, but I would love to see something happen in it's place someday.
*Apple Display 27". I don't need one, it is very overdue.

This is correct. Also remember in 1997 when Jobs came back to Apple. He rejected over half of every product Apple was making at the time and got Apple to never make them again. And I am sure in Jon Ive's lab in the Apple HQ, there are a lot of prototypes that will never be sold to the public. But they are vital in Apple learning about the tech so they can make us the best products.

Ipad Mini 2 is going to have colors!

The latest rumor is that the iPad Mini 2 for 2013 will be upgrade to an A5X and have the same color options for the back cover as that of the iPhone 5C and will be made of polycarbonate instead of metal. In addition Apple will introduces a line of their own covers like they did for the iPhone 5C for the iPad Mini 2.

We will see! I wish that Apple would start get serious and make a high end model for the iPad Mini! Apple seem to want to hold back the Mini so they can sell more of the full size model and continue to put the latest technology into the iPad5 but leave the Mini with 2-3 year old components.

Rumor also has it that Apple will now adivertise the Mini to be for children only while Apple will position the full size for adults and business use.

Apple can never win. When they release something too early then people complain of the bugs. When they hold onto it and try to make the product perfect then everyone also complains.
 
More than anything, I really want to hear the news about the new Mac Book Pro. More than anything I'm hoping they drop the price on the Retina Mac Book Pro, even just $100 or $150. I still think it's a lot to ask when it include no disk drive, and only 128GB SSD. My current Mac has more than that and it's from 2009.

Completely untrue. Apple shares never broke $425 while SJ was alive. In fact, they didn't trade above $400 until AFTER he announced he was stepping away from the CEO role and handing the reigns to Tim Cook. Shares were trading at around $420 the week of his death in October 2011. AAPL didn't break $600 until late March 2012, over six months after his passing. The $700 threshold wasn't crossed until late September 2012 just before the anniversary of his death.

I was just reading through the comments to see if anyone had suggested that. The color decorations of the venue leads me to wonder that very thing. If that were the case, one would have to be curious if the same treatment would be given with Touch ID and Gold/Silver/Space for the full-size iPad.
 
I'm wondering if they do announce the new rMBP whether they will have resolved the screen issues. I have had my screen replaced twice now, 1st was LG image retention (the display the machine came with) issues and the second was the lovely Samsung orange gradient and now having had it replaced again I still have a slight orange gradient.

At nearly £2,500 I expect it to be perfect, especially as it's the selling point of the machine.

With over 8,000 replies on the Apple forums with regards to this issue, I do hope Apple have sorted it out

I'm pretty sure that the Mac Pro is going to be USB 3 and it would make sense that the Cinema Display would get a spec increase to a USB 3 hub.

Part of the reason why I am wondering is because I plan on purchasing a Mac Pro and two Cinema Display and am curious if I should buy the monitors now or wait and bundle them together.

What are your thoughts?
