The script I linked in post #185 works as expected, but needs an additional step to display the notification. I’ve updated the Read Me page.

There is already a thread for that "macOS 15 Sequoia on Unsupported Macs Thread" https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/macos-15-sequoia-on-unsupported-macs-thread.2428654/
Maybe a fiftieth of the comments on that page relate to successful updates so it's hardly resembling what I wished for; for that matter this thread is about 98% not related to stopping Tahoe; that said; I got Google Gemini to put the Github stuff into English and it was much simpler than I feared (I wrote the previous before just spending 10 mins getting "Script editor" to be allowed to create notifications; Gemini reckons: "The GitHub guide assumes macOS will automatically prompt you when the script first attempts a notification, but because background LaunchAgents run headless without an active GUI session context, that prompt often fails to appear, making the instructions deficient". Thanks for your effort.

I have created an RSS feed page generator for that page, as the page itself has no RSS. 15.7.9 showed in my feed reader. I used FreshRSS to do it.

I follow Apple's RSS feed for Developers https://developer.apple.com/news/releases/rss/releases.rss It doesn't show Sequoia releases, but when a new Tahoe is released, Sequoia is not far behind (usually) 🙂
I haven't forensically followed all this but I thought the indication was that a new appearence of the word "Sequoia" would produce a notification; but it seems that what your describing is the same as i had via "Visualping" ie any change on the page produces advice. I can't be bothered, but apparently there is a way to set up Visualping to only provide advice if/when a update to the page mentions "Sequoia"; it's very much a first world problem but if optimization is req'd and avoiding getting prompts about Tahoe and IOS then it looks like the best option.

That's not true. It only selects macOS Sequoia entries and saves them in /Library/Application Support/macos-sequoia15-watch/seen_entries.txt

You can easily test by deleting the first line from the file, now “macOS Sequoia 15.7.9”, and you will get a notification when it checks again.

Good to hear - since I went to the trouble of setting it up; I conflated: "I follow Apple's RSS feed for Developers https://developer.apple.com/news/releases/rss/releases.rss It doesn't show Sequoia releases, but when a new Tahoe is released, Sequoia is not far behind (usually)" with having some relation to the Github stuff.

I don't know why, but I have version 27.0 of Safari installed, running Sequoia 15.8, installed OTA yesterday.
Safari info says it was created August 7. Quite different, compared with Safari 26.6.1. I wonder why there is such a discrepancy, and the date is so far back in time, almost 2 weeks.
That should be a beta version of Safari.

Is that a matter of concern? Or is there a way to delete that version? The Mr. Macintosh site has a link to the 26.6.1 version but clicking on that just does nothing, and it is noted there that it is not possible to update Safari that way.
I normally don't use Safari at all, using Brave mostly or Edge in some cases,

You have installed a beta version of macOS (15.8), it’s normal to receive Safari beta updates in Software Update.

Interesting. The 15.8 update appeared for me a few days ago. I've installed it: Sequoia 15.8 (24H16). It appeared in Software Update tho I have beta updates off. There doesn't appear to be a full installer available either, after checking using Terminal.

I''m now showing Safari 27.0 Seed 4 in Software update.
Maybe because I have the Develop menu on in Safari?

No, having the Develop menu in Safari does not make beta versions of Safari to appear in Software Update.

You are definitely enrolled in the developer beta program. What does this command return:

Code:
sudo defaults read /private/var/root/Library/Preferences/com.apple.MobileAsset.plist

Run Bogdanwa's script in Terminal to see a link to the full installer;
Coce:
for file in $(curl -s https://swscan.apple.com/content/ca...n-lion-snowleopard-leopard.merged-1.sucatalog | grep com_apple_MobileAsset_MacSoftwareUpdate.plist | grep -Evw '(com_apple_MobileAsset_MacSoftwareUpdate.plist.integrityDataV1)' | sed -e s/"<string>"//g -e s/"<\/string>"//g -e s/\ //g); do
echo "macOS"
curl -s $file | egrep -A 1 -m 2 '(>Build<|OSVersion)' | sed '/^--$/d' | sed -e 's/<string>//g' -e 's#</string>##g' -e 's/<key>//g' -e 's#</key>##g' -e 's/[[:space:]]//g'
echo $file | sed -e "s/com_apple_MobileAsset_MacSoftwareUpdate.plist/InstallAssistant.pkg/g"
done | grep '15.*' -B 2 -A 1

I get this running that code:
24H16
OSVersion
15.8

"PallasUrlOverrideV2-com.apple.MobileAsset.Trial.Siri.SiriTextToSpeech" = "https://gdmf.apple.com/v2/assets";
}

That is the value for "macOS 15 public beta": "c8ba02c8-cc63-4388-99ee-a81d5a593283"

Aah! I see now. I didn't read the fine print so to speak when applying the MobileAssetAssetAudience command. I had not seen any previous public beta updates come up in Software Update prior to 15.8, so didn't realize until I re-read the previous posts that the potential was there to show those while all along hiding Tahoe.. Thank you 🙂

This morning, to see what would happen, I re-installed Sequoia from Recovery; would it revert to 15.7.9?. No. Also, upon logging in, I didn't get the usual "set up Apple Intelligence" screen like I normally do with this re-install method. I checked the AI settings and was glad to see they were not somehow changed from being off..
