Midnight Green and the Ultrawide camera, along with the night mode and 12MP selfie camera.

If you are a photographer you know how bad the flare is on the XS Max lenses. I'm hoping the new lenses are better. The ultra-wide lens is useful, but i would have preferred a 100mm equivalent. It might be a mistake to upgrade just for the camera, but have to buy it to find out. The XS Max is new enough those wanting to sell it should get a good price if they have kept it in good shape.

I am very curious on why you say the XS lenses are bad.
Can you please elaborate?

There are more pluses I had not really considered

  • Faster LTE (there was definitely an improvement from X to XS and this year they say they’ve improved it even more)
  • WiFi 6
  • Better water resistance
  • 1200 NITS in sunlight is a plus. My watch is 1000 and it’s very easy to see. Not that the iPhone will actually do that in the sun mind you (they tend to overheat and dim very easily ...)
  • Night mode
  • Deep fusion
  • Subject tracking in video (kind of a big deal)
  • 40% brighter telephoto which I use a lot
  • Stronger glass
  • Much better FaceTime camera - it’s a peer of the back one now with 12 mpix, wider, 4K
  • There’s really as many updates this year as the XS max was to the X.
  • oh And the plain old iPhone 11 offers almost all of these updates for $300 less on the missingand the plain old iPhone 11 offers almost all of these updates $300 less. Can you still get a large screen size, a screen to my house looks almost identical to the OLED and is just as bright as last year‘s XS and the missing telephoto (but still two cameras and that new ultra wide) and that’s it

Battery life does it for me, I'm constantly out and about and that extra hours are a big difference to me.

Sure, I will stil carry a battery pack but i will not need to use it as much.

The 11? No one reputable has suggested that it has a Qualcomm modem. They recently settled their litigation - next year is the year.

I’m not buying another iPhone until it has a Qualcomm modem. My XS should be an amazing phone but it is let down by its garbage wireless connectivity.
Exactly my thoughts. I upgraded to the XS last year because I thought I would get better reception inside buildings, etc. Instead, it was worse than my 8+. I am so pissed about being misled. To upgrade for better reception and have it turn out to be a downgrade, left me incredibly pissed at Apple. I won't upgrade again until we KNOW that the reception is noticeably improved, validated with real world experiences. I'm still pissed enough that my next phone may be an Android.
