I have my sleep schedule set to 10:30p to 6:30a, no alarm.

Went to bed around 9:37, woke up around 7, battery drained from 96% to 82% in 9.5hr

That’s a lot more than usual. I typically start the day with 93% after charging to 100% the evening before.

Will have to keep an eye on this. I’ve always done sleep tracking in the past with Auto Sleep and Apple’s sleep tracking (since they first began offering theirs). If I continue to lose an an extra 10% I will have to disable one or the other and see if I can isolate what’s causing it. Of course it could also be a fluke the first night after updating to v9

I also noticed a major battery drain after watchOS 9. I own an Apple Watch Series 6 44mm GPS + Cellular (Nike Version), if before the update I started the day with a 92/93%, the morning after the update I saw 75%...but in the afternoon I had to charge it. The battery has 81% health status. With watchOS 8 I could do a whole day. I hope for a bug fix

I put my watch on at around 7am and by 10am it is going into low power mode then eventually turning off! I could go all day with out having to charge it. This is crazy

Glad it’s not just me. Was at 55% at 4:30 and my watch died at 7pm, Series 6 Nike. I never have to charge during the day.

It's probably a good idea to wait a day or two before worrying too much about judging battery life on the new OS. There always seems to be some extra drain following an update. Presumably that's from background tasks as the device resettles things, as well as playing with new features.

I saw a somewhat higher drain overnight as well. According to the graph, it obviously was doing something or other in the early hours while I was fast asleep - hopefully just post-update housekeeping. The burn rate on my bike ride this morning (on cellular) was only a little higher than normal.

I am also having battery drain issues with a Series 7 Apple Watch after updating to Watch OS 9. Barely lasts 2 hours!

Force restarting my iPhone and Apple Watch helped significantly. 2 Hours since last charging and still on 100% battery.

My series 7 did use an extra 10-15% yesterday. “Settling in” and reindenting should long be over. Looks like the new OS is power hungry. Glad I got an ultra on the way.

Overnight battery drain is pretty bad still, even after force restarting. It just drained from 100 to 83 while I was sleeping from 9pm to 5:30am

I’m having same issue. I’ve already charged in the middle of the day and I have 17 % on evening. Wtf.

yup, same here. Series 6. Usually I'm probably around 40% or so at the end of the day. Today, I'm at 20% or so, in the red, with no difference in usage pattern. Definitely tied to the OS update. Not sure if it is coming from the change in notifications or something else.

Two days this week almost full drain in 2 hours and I remembered to take a picture. It has happened more than that but those are the two I remembered to take the pictures of.

Apple needs to get this fixed. No reason for my existing series 7 to end the day with 60% battery remaining when it used to end the day with 85% battery remaining. Glad I got an Ultra coming next Friday but this needs to be fixed!
