I second this. The first 3 times (yes, three 🤦🏻♂️) I tried the 11 I hated it and went back to my 8 Plus. About 8 months later I tried it one last time and something changed. I fell in love with it. That said, the text is not fuzzy to my eyes and I don’t find the display, despite the specs, to be inferior to the 8 Plus at all. So that is something I don’t have to worry about whereas Jimmy might not be able to get past.
I wonder though, if that would change and your eyes would adapt over a short period of time. I don’t miss what I don’t look at everyday. If I place the 11 side by side with a 14, I’ll instantly see the difference. But put me solely on the 11 without making constant direct comparisons and I don’t mind it at all.
I think it’s important to note that no matter how heightened our senses may be, whether it’s how a phone feels in hand, quality of the display, etc… there are concessions that will need to be made at this point. Maybe I’m a pessimist, but after speaking with my friend who works at Apple, there’s nothing that leads me to believe they are intentionally working to improve PWM. It’s a non-issue when selling 100s of millions of phones. I am not putting any hope in the 15 being any better. So I recommend to anyone to snag an LCD model that will be supported for several more years, before that option is gone forever.
