I somewhat cannot believe that AT&T doesn't provide this feature as a standard feature for every user. This and caller ID were the last two reasons I'd sometimes jailbreak.
If AT&T added caller ID with name I'd likely never jailbreak again.

honest answer:
Productivity:
- you can make the iPad be compatible with external usb drives
- you can buy iFile, which gives iOS a real filesystem
- you can have trackpad support
- you can build code on the devices (forbidden by app store rules)
- you can costumize control center
- you can install whatsapp (or any other iPhone only app) on an iPad
If you are into games:
- you can use a ps4 controller, which is much better than the MFI ones. You can use any bluetooth controller you already have. So that's 50$ less to spend and a better experience.
- you can install emulators
This are just a few examples.
Personally I don't feel the need to jailbreak my iPhone (now that f.lux is here) but I do feel the need to jailbreak my iPad. Out of the box is FAR too limited. Even more with the iPad Pro.
Finally!
As of right now, no-one should have a reason to jailbreak anymore.
My wife suffers from migraines after a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and has always suffered from insomnia. This isn't for me, I have no issues with either, but this could help with both, especially with harsh white giving her worse headaches.Amazing the things people believe.
If you mean Cydia proper, it does a ton of stuff writing to the file system and installing things in restricted areas of iOS- that's not going to work.Well, presumably you should be able to build Cydia for your personal device now. Why do we need jailbreaking again?
Amazing the things people believe.
That can be done without jailbreaking. For example, I have Instagram on my never-been-jailbroken iPad.- you can install whatsapp (or any other iPhone only app) on an iPad
You can sideload GBA4iOS and Provenance in the same way as this new version of F.lux, also without jailbreaking.- you can install emulators
you know not of what you speak.Again, those are features of apps on cydia. Cydia is the primary feature of jailbreaking. Why do you need to jailbreak to get cydia, if you can just side-load it? Cydia's build tools will need some changes to allow it, but there's no technical reason it can't work now.
Instagram is not iPad optimized. It is not "iPhone only". It is different. That can be done without jailbreaking. For example, I have Instagram on my never-been-jailbroken iPad.
But there are emulators that can't be sideloaded right now. Like ppssppYou can sideload GBA4iOS and Provenance in the same way as this new version of F.lux, also without jailbreaking.
Tell Apple. I drop them a note every now and then. More people the better.

Because it's not true, any apple id is okThis article fails to mention one needs a developer account to do this.
KeyVibe (feel the phone vibrate when typing), Phantom for Snapchat, Kodi (could be side loaded), ColorFlow2, ColorBanners, Activator, TypeStatus 2, Flex 2, Round Dock, Speed Intensifier, Color Badges, iCleaner, iFile. These are just a few reasons I jailbreak. Plus tons of different themes you could use.Honest question, what are those reasons?
Because right now I don't see the need to jailbreak anymore.
Perfect. Thanks!See this?

Flux is great and I recommend it very much but I really enjoy access to the filesystem as well. Finally!

I assume you are on a beta or developer version of iOS, in this case Xcode don't have the image of the iPhone.I've been trying to do this, but it keeps saying "cannot find developer disk image"
what am i doing wrong?
I assume you are on a beta or developer version of iOS, in this case Xcode don't have the image of the iPhone.
In this case I have read this message in Xcode.
From the F.lux team "You need Xcode 7.2 to build for iOS 9.2.", this is the beta version of Xcode I believe. Currently downloading myself.I've been trying to do this, but it keeps saying "cannot find developer disk image"

Can you link me to the download for the beta version of Xcode? From the F.lux team "You need Xcode 7.2 to build for iOS 9.2.", this is the beta version of Xcode I believe. Currently downloading myself.
Hmm, the source website says one is needed: https://justgetflux.com/sideload/ I figured this was the reason I can't get past the "No provisioning files found" error message.Because it's not true, any apple id is ok
