That's an interesting point. I wonder if the Messanger button in the Facebook app would fall under this restriction: App Store Review Guidelines 2.14 Apps that are intended to provide trick or fake functionality that are not clearly marked as such will be rejected.

Does the Messenger button within the Facebook app that clearly looks like other buttons that function only within the app "trick" users?

Yeah, not sure how they are getting away with leaving that in there. If they insist on everyone using Messanger they really need to axe the button.

Skipped over this post earlier because I saw Facebook at the top, then I saw YouTube and I got excited! I'm so glad that YouTube was finally updated for the 6 Plus. It looks so much better now!!

"text that's sized appropriately"

Really? "appropriately" for whom?? Not my older eyes. The prior size was perfect (iphone 6 Plus), and now there's no way to increase the text to an actual readable size. VERY annoying, Facebook.

Facebook and YouTube Apps Updated With iPhone 6 and 6 Plus Support

But the YouTube update looks really weird on the ipad mini retina. It has a huge gap of space in the middle now in landscape mode.
I tried a reinstall but that didn't help.

Anyone else having issues with youtube on iPad mini in landscape orientation?

The sidebar with recommended etc., is way too wide and leaves little room for the videos pane.

I submitted feedback already.

I have exactly the same bug on iPad 4.

Finally. Can't believe these were not updated by launch day, with their billions of resources.

It's decisions like this that cause me to despise Facebook. First they cram messenger down our throats and now they shrink the text. New flash Facebook morons: I bought the 6+ so I could SEE the screen!

Yeah, I know, they won't see it and wouldn't care if they did.

just to help everybody with the messenger button in the Facebook app. its there so you can easily switch between the messenger and Facebook. When using it, it goes to messenger, if you tap on the back button in the top left hand corner of the screen it goes back to Facebook. Instead you would have to use the multitasking feature and find messenger or exit Facebook then find fb messages then send a message then use the multitasking on the phone to go back into Facebook. you could bury the FB messenger app in a folder somewhere and not even worry about it.

that's great, but where can I get an iPhone 6+ 128 in my area....2 years ago, the 5's where on the shelves of stores, today, you can not get any iPHone 6 or 6+ in any color or size as a store...

At last the black screen upon opening has gone!

I still have that after the update, WTH!

Oh please please please make the black screen upon opening the app be gone! This has been driving me crazy since I got the phone and I never saw anyone else reporting it, I even reported it in iTunes. I also see that they've updated Twitter and Skype among some others that I use. My update is downloading right now and my fingers are crossed that the black screen in Facebook is gone....

I'm still getting the black screen but only on my iphone 6+ Ipad air doesnt do it...

Please do let your colleagues that thought that removing the messages from the main app was a good idea know that they are mentally handicapped, thank you.

They will never go back. Messenger has its own team now and want to make their own updates without waiting for the main app team to finish what they're doing,

Mine doesn't. Maybe try rebooting your phone? Uninstall and reinstall?

Probably things like testing and so forth needed to actually happen.

Couldn't they do that before the iphone 6 release? Many other developers had their apps ready to go with native resolution on launch day (gameloft, madfinger, EA, Activision, and many many more). I don't get how Google and Facebook didn't.

With new resolutions or just iOS 8 compatibility? Not quite sure how many apps would have resolution updates without being able to test them on devices (unless they don't even test, which isn't exactly the way to go). Or without at least knowing the actual dimensions which wrren't revealed until the announcement.

Even that aside, some companies already have planned releases in the pipeline with things lined up for them some time ahead, like at least a few weeks ahead of not more, and throwing things in the middle of that can be detrimental in more ways than beneficial, so something new would be fit into it all rather than just jammed in over everything else already finished and ready to go or being wrapped up or worked on already.

If you are going to be ignorant, fine. But all I know is, you're just another person who hates change.

I do hate change when it is ridiculous and makes life harder. One would be a masochist to appreciate changes of that sort.
