Facebook App

I dunno, I haven't had any real problems with the app.
I kinda like it. It's simple and give you the ability to see what you need to see quick.

If you're a facebook junkie than it may not be for you because some features are missing. But if you're just looking to check up on the latest status updates, news and photos, than it's awesome!
 
I have the same white screen issue too. It drives me crazy! I'm on 1st gen iPhone with 2.2. Come on whoever makes the facebook app, release a fix already!

Yeah, Facebook has definitely been acting kind of funny.
I get the blank screens of trying to view photos, I get the freezes here and there, and some items dissapear when scrolling sometimes.
Facebook, it's time for an update.

Yet the "About the Developer" section has a person in it whose network is Facebook, implying he works there. Who knows.



An update to the Facebook app is needed. They're saying there's an update that'll be released in early January of 09 and here we are in early January of 09. Probably any day now.
 
yes an app update is necessary. its a little ridiculous i can't access my events...
 
Running 2.2 and the app runs fine, no freezes, or white screens. the only buggy thing is the time stamps on the news updates they all say 3 hours ago, but really that is no big deal.
 
I haven't had any issues with the current version. Im on 3G with 2.2. I would definitely like to see some more features though. Apples guidelines state that updates should be spaced out every month or so. Releasing updates more frequently looks bad. Maybe Facebook is actually following the guidelines?
 
I haven't read all the posts so I don't know if you've figured it out but,
I haven't had any issues on my touch, I'm running 2.2 and I haven't jailbroken. Try doing a restore?
 
I get the white screen sometimes and have only gotten a couple crashes.
There are many problems with the chat feature feature.

Definitley an app problem, since it's happening even while I'm off line browsing.

It is a good app. Just needs more time spent on it to get out the bugs.

But I've not had any issues with it yet - I've only used it in quick occasions though, not spent hours playing with the damn app.

2.0 is really really buggy. An easy bug to find; go to the friends view and scroll right to the end of your friends list to where it displays the number of friends. Now press on the number, boom, instant crash :D

I fixed it last night! Give these steps a try, hopefully they work for you too.
(I did all this from the phone, never synced with iTunes on the computer)

1) Delete Facebook App
2) Reset the iPhone (hold sleep button + home button)
3) Re-Download Facebook App
4) Do not open Facebook, Power off your phone
5) Turn the phone back on, open Facebook, login

This is exactly what I did last night, and now it no longer crashes on me when I touch the "Notifications" tab. Good luck!
 
I get the white screen quite often (if anything is off the screen, it disappears), but my only real gripe is the chat. For the most part I can get maybe one or two messages before I stop receiving them altogether. I have to close the app and go back in to see the new messages that have arrived... Makes me think people are ignoring me all to often.

The FB app is getting worse. All of my FB friends complain about it and how terrible it is. I don't know how many times I have done the above with no results.

There has to be an update soon. Its like using BETA, so many bugs. Never works. I don't know frustrating.
 
It must just be hit or miss. My notifications works fine, and I have never had it crash or show a white screen.
 
The facebook app is good, but theres a LOAD of room for improvement. As well as a few obvious bugs which should have been fixed by now.
