I am running 2.2 and have no problems at all with the Facebook app. Never once had it go all white.

I fixed it last night! Give these steps a try, hopefully they work for you too.
(I did all this from the phone, never synced with iTunes on the computer)

1) Delete Facebook App
2) Reset the iPhone (hold sleep button + home button)
3) Re-Download Facebook App
4) Do not open Facebook, Power off your phone
5) Turn the phone back on, open Facebook, login

This is exactly what I did last night, and now it no longer crashes on me when I touch the "Notifications" tab. Good luck!

this version crashes on me alot, the old one never did

It crashed on me a lot before, but I haven't had any problems since the update, and I use the app a lot! I no longer have the crashes, white screens, problems with chats, and long back up times.

When I first updated the app it fixed the timezones but now its back to the wrong timezones. I wonder what happened.

Mine works fine but then again mine worked fine before the update (other the the times on the status updates).
