You can, but few do.
Truthfully most do--it's just that we generally hear about the vast majority who live their regular lives just fine and use Facebook just fine, given that there's really nothing to hear about them.

What the heck happened to my "Close Friends" list? Why did they bother making me make such a list, only to disable it in the next version?
It's still there, along with "Most Recent" and various other types of filters for the News Feed--seems like when you pull down to refresh the newsfeed you will see which one you are using (like simply "News Feed" which seems more like what top stories used to be) and you can tap on it and then select various others that are listed in the list that appears, with even more that are accessible by tapping on the down arrow at the bottom of that list.

Now, if they could also retain your selection until you changed it (instead of often defaulting back to the generic "News Feed" option), that would make it that much better.

Where exactly are you doing this?

The post you replied to had mentioned the Android app so I assumed, perhaps incorrectly, that you were referring to the Android version of the app.

On my Note 2 it is right in settings (within the app). Perhaps on iOS its in the Settings app itself.

But what really got me was turning off notifications. You would think unchecking "Notifications" would turn them off, yes? Well fb's idea of turning them off is for EIGHT HOURS ONLY. No option for permanently off. Well, unless I set notification options for each contact individually: then I have the option for off--which is presumably really off--off for 1 hour, or off till 8am the next morning.

This has to be the most idiotic implementation ever. It's highly annoying and I don't know what FB is thinking shoving down freaking notification in our face.
Not only it is annoying, it consumes battery too.

What da **** happened to my chat heads? Had them installed using Cydia hack then they disappeared? Installed the latest FB update.

Maybe the update broke the tweak ? Check cydia maybe a update was pushed allready.

Sandboxing is what keeps iOS secure, yet the bloggers turn this into a negative for iOS. Pathetic.

Cool and also what allows malware to install onto your nexus from the Google Play store then transfer to your PC, record audio, and upload it to China.

Also while we'll never allow Android devices in our organization.

Classic MacRumors.

You know what the first thing I did when I installed the new app was? Got rid of the chat heads.

Why is everyone talking this up? It's a terrible "feature" that just irritates the crap out of me and gets in the way of me seeing my newsfeed properly, especially on the tiny screens most iPhones have. If I had these all over the OS like Facebook does on Android I'd uninstall every Facebook app.

I don't see how/why this is innovative?

How do you usually chat to a person or more than one in Messages or Whatsapp? Lots of context switching, right? Chatheads fixes a lot of this and it works great. I used it briefly but it was fun and easy to use. The Apple recipe.

In fact, I'm being ignorant. Just saw some videos it, it works but I don't use Facebook Message much but would like to see a similar implementation for WhatsApp which I do actually use.
