FACEBOOK & CHAT for iPad - Friends with Benefits - Update

I purchased last night. It has potential but so far my money still goes to Friendly.

One thing that I like about Friendly is everything is fit to the iPad screen horizontally. On Friends with benefits when I scroll vertically sometimes I need to scroll horizontally as well to see all content.

Friends with benefits sounds like a bunch of unemployed acquaintances.

Someone has probably already pointed this out but in UK the term "Friends with Benefits" is normally the saying used when you well, doing a friend. No strings attached.
I don't know if thats what the Op's app is going for... Good branding!
 
People need to stop being so squeamish. It's just a name. In fact, looks like its getting people talking about the app.

I'm hoping for a free version (ad supported of course) to try sometime (yeah I'm CHEAP lol).

I know, but the app name would lead me to think its going to set me up with some boning.
 
Our next update (soon) is going to include some major Chat enhancements. I feel that chat hasn't been done REALLY well yet, so I'm hoping that we can fill that void. The purpose of our application is to provide a ton of hand crafted themes to a FULL Facebook client along with many enhancements. I'd like to add themes to the chat side as well. I would love some opinions. Would you all like the light theme, a the dark theme or both. Thanks!!

p.s. We are currently on sale for $0.99 in the app store...

Might be a good app, but I say NAME FAIL.

My wife would probably have a cow if she saw this app on our iPad.
 
Can people get over the fricckin name? Yes we get it, you're squeamish and sexually repressed. Let's talk about the app instead.

And the 1950's called, they want the phrase "have a cow" back.



I purchased Facely, but I'm still interested to see the updates in this one, haven't purchased it yet, but looks promising.
 
Branding can be just as important as functionality in whether a product succeeds or not.

Agreed ; it seems as though they didn't take the American Squeamishness factor into account. That being said, it was earlier noted that it just shows up as "Friends" on your homescreen, so your wife shouldn't have a cow.

It looks like Facebook has made another change that breaks Friendly, Pica and Facely (amongst others). Our app is still working like a champ!! I hope this gives some of you an opportunity to give us a try. If you're looking for some comfort in purchase, we've had some great reviews from Padvance and 148apps. Thanks everyone!
 
Our 1.1 update just hit the App Store. We've included in this update:


  • - New Dark Chat Theme
    - Many Chat enhancements (thanks itsjustmeee)
    - New Facebook Theme
    - Increased Ad Removal
    - A ton of polish to existing themes.

We've been featured by AppAdvice, 148Apps and Padvance as a premier Facebook Application. We really hope you enjoy it and stay tuned for a lot of future updates.

I agree. I'm single, I write a lot of idiotic stuff on facebook, make a lot of jokes, but I wouldn't buy the app just because every post of mine would be tagged 'posted 5 minutes ago via Friends with Benefits' - even being Brazilian and knowing that 90% of my friends wouldn't know the meaning of the expression.

There is no tag added when posting from within the application under any circumstance. You'll see above in a screenshot that even the name below the icon only reads "Friends".
 
Found the Bible app from movie

There is an ipad app used in the friends with benefits movie where they swear on the bible. I think this is the app its called "Take an Oath" i found it in the in the itunes store or http://www.take-an-oath.com
 
Any chance you can add the ability to crop profile pictures when picking a new one? (Or am I missing somewhere where I can do this?) Thanks!
 
Chat With Group option?

Any chance we might see the "chat with group" option when looking at groups that I'm a member of? Facebook on safari doesn't support chat with group nor individual chat but I can see it when I get on Facebook on my pc...
