Bloody hell. No way. And don't look at me or record me while wearing yours.
And this is the real issue with this tech. It doesn’t matter if Facebook can sell some people on the idea if everyone else bans them like they are a Smith and Weston shaped Segway.

As much as I love my Apple Watch, I do miss having a watch that lasted years on a single battery (or a wind). Having to charge my sunglasses is a bit too much for me, but to each their own.

Nice, now you as a consumer have no choice in being datamined.

Someone else is wearing these and glances at you, bam, your geolocation is now in Zucks greasy hands.

Version 2 comes out with a front facing camera for taking the bridge of your nose selfies

Are all the naysayers here, because it’s from Facebook or the idea of any digital glasses in general?

So would you be okay if this came from Apple especially given it’s recent privacy fumble?
I think it's a combo of Google/Snap's past hardware failures and Facebook's terrible reputation for privacy and general lack of caring about truth and social media users' mental health.

I think Apple will experience about a dozen more major privacy fumbles before they eventually release their own AR glasses so I don't think it matters. Apple's privacy marketing messaging helps but Apple customers ultimately trust Apple based on decades of solid and considerate hardware and software choices.

I would have you thrown out of any privately owned shared space and I would probably encourage people to report your suspicious behavior until the cops ask you to not wear them in public. Of course, you could still do so, but eventually, to be safe they could take the camera down to the station and hold it until they have someone qualified to review it.

Because it's not just good enough that you feel comfortable wearing them. Everyone around needs to feel comfortable.

Um…these are already a thing. They’re called Snapchat Spectacles and they’ve been out forever and have different styles, better features, and around the same price. Plus, I actually trust Snapchat a lot more than Facebook.
Why do you trust them more? Both FB and Snap are in the business of collecting user data on one end, and selling you relevant ads on the other. They just take different routes to get there. FB just has a higher historical creep factor because of its enormous social network and ad businesses.

The type of people who would willingly purchase these and put them on their face escapes me. It surely doesn't include any of the intelligent, real humans with whom I actually associate?
