Why would making messenger the default require Apple to let them have access to MMS/SMS. Don't get me wrong, I don't and will never have a facebook app on my phone, but that doesn't mean we should make false statements.

One default app for messaging contacts, one app for handling iMessage and MMS/SMS

While I think Facebook is evil and I would never do this personally, I feel Facebook should be allowed to offer Messenger as the default Messages app for users who want it, God help them.

I guess I don’t know why they wouldn’t allow this as a default option. It would be pretty useful for the five people who would actually set it as their default.

I’m not the biggest fan of Facebook, but to play devil’s advocate, perhaps some people would actually like Messenger or WhatsApp as defaults.

What a crock of ****. From a **** company with no moral compass

How can you with a straight face complain that blocking tracking of users is bad for those users?

Can’t wait for the FTC to rip Instagram out

It’s times like this I wish Apple would just acquire the Lockdown app, ship it preinstalled on all apple devices and allow users to block all ads and trackers at a device level.

Everything that Facebook touches is spyware in all but name and the more Apple does to stymie Facebook’s efforts in tracking iOS users, the better.

Why? Why do you care? You have an option to simply not sue Facebook. Why “lock it down” for those that aren’t paranoid.

Yeah, this is definitely not happening. I’m sure Tim is laughing right along with us.

I could see maybe being integrated with messages app like support can iMessage you. But not replacing the whole app. Pretty soon companies will want to replace the shutdown screen because they just want to fight...

Should Apple open up for changeing the Default app for messages, then I may want to use Signal as my default, not Facebook Messenger
