Facebook Updates News Feed With Inspiration from Mobile Devices, Rolling Out Over Several Weeks

I hope they put more gambling and dating adverts allover the news feed and make them impossible to get rid of, they know what people want, just like google... :rolleyes:

I can't speak on the part of him being "racist" toward his own people. I've never once heard that. However, I will say that Mark Zuckerberg at such a young age has become more successful than any of us could ever hope to be. Can't fault anyone for being successful.

Yep, this looks like a mashup of Google+ and the YouTube site.

I'll withhold judgment.

Besides, it's FB. In two months they'll have changed it again.

Thanks, that's great. But to see all posts, I'd still need to go through every person and tag them as a "close friend". And it still doesn't offer a way to do that for organizations.

Yes, they really need to bring back the true "most recent" news feed filter where everything gets posted (aside from perhaps specific types of things you selected not to see) from everyone (again, aside from those you specifically selected to exclude) in chronological order--basically bring back a lot of the stuff that went into the fairly useless ticker that was added (and looks like perhaps it will be removed with the redesign).

This. The whole problem is that they've eliminated the full feed. If they'd just bring the damn thing back all that nonsense wouldn't be necessary.

I have no problem with people not liking it, I just don't understand the compulsive need to constantly announce that to the rest of the world. There are people who hate mayonnaise, but you don't see them constantly posting about it.
 
did anyone get this new look? i signed up on the waiting list too the day the signup page was live and still nothing.. im in NY.. :confused:

im very excited for the new look as it will give the facebook a fresh twist which is much needed in my opinion.
 
I'd just like an app that actually *works* as opposed to one that refuses to accept my choice to view things in chronological order as opposed to what it deems important. Also, keeping people off my news feed on the mobile app whom I've removed from seeing on the desktop version would be nice, too. I should get the exact same posts on both -- and I don't.

Granted, I'm spending less & less time on Facebook, but I'm about to completely remove the app from my phone. It's useless.

It's going to be rolling out over a period of at least few weeks (if not more), so while some will definitely get it sooner than later, others (if not most) will likely not see it at least for a little while.

Yes!!! what is up with the trend of hating everything on the internet, well like the new look of Facebook? I mean I don't know about you but personally… why in the hell would I ever want to see all the junk on the side n other stuff, cuz all any boby would want to see is the stories! they are the only thing I mostly want to see, big n in front! thats awesome good job FB… but people do bitch & its y i hate coming to this site it's like I'm finding the only thing I really hate about this kind a site and other websites like this is the constant bitching about anything on it… it's like people you're acting like you don't have a Facebook and you hate Facebook if that's the case? why are you commenting about it? I'm guessing you do have a Facebook! so you like to continuously use something you hate? thats very smart of you :D

How do you figure that one? So let me understand this correctly, basically what you are saying is that you reduce the entire worth and merit of a human beings credibility down to if he/she is on Facebook and is popular?

Boy, no wonder why the world is spinning out of control when we have the multitudes of the younger generation viewing life like this and reducing the worth and merit of another living breathing human being down to ZERO because of lack of activity on Facebook or social media in general ........WOW!

How incredibly misguided is the youth and populous of today? HOUSTON...I think we have a BIG Problem!:rolleyes:

you are talking pure no sense, any credible company and person have somewhat social media presence, if they dont, then guess what.. they are not doing very well,

i use facebook to contact my friends from israel which i haven't seen in years, it is the best experience anywhere on the net for interacting with friends, family and multimedia companies for entertainment, if u dont like it, fine, but dont call it useless just cuz u dont like it.

besides, why WOULDN'T u be on facebook? do u not have friends u want to stay in contact with? do u have no family that share pictures of their children?

ur acting like u share whatever u post with the world LMAO, u only share with WHOEVER u want my friend. u can share with 4 friends or 400 strangers like some teenagers do by adding people they dont know just to have a big number of friends count.

i only add people i know in real life. end of story.

i didnt mention anywhere saying that i use google + or twitter, you did. these 2 services are utterly useless imo. facebook is for friends and family, the other 2 are not, they are for following celebs or being followed by strangers or having a company page to promote your site.

google + is basically a nice try from google to copy facebook which imo really flopped.
 
I got upgraded today and it SUCKS! I can't see anything older than a couple of hours.

Any plugins to disable it?

It is NOT less cluttered. It is a huge mess. And if the person who posts the pic writes a comment with it, as most do - that is across the pic!

Who does this guy hire for programmers?!

I made sure NOT to sign up for it and I got it anyway!!! It took them months to force me into timeline and I was hoping it would be the same :mad:

I easily share info and pictures with friends and family. I email them. I can include pix if I want. I can put a page of pix on a website I own or any other picture sharing sites. I don't need fb for any of this.
