Hard hard pass on this. They'll be watching to see if your heart rate elevates and or pupils dilate as a reaction to any ads or content served and feed that into the algorithm. NOPE.

LOL what masochist would ever allow FB to have access to you personal health data? They will sell the data in a nanosecond and you will be spammed to death.

If it has a blood glucose monitor I’d be first in line and I loathe FB. Get moving Apple before a really bad company not only eats your lunch but breaks the ecosystem stranglehold.

Built in cameras on watches is going to exclude anybody that works for a company that deals with sensitive material. I understand that people think it is cool and what not. There should be a model of watch with a camera... But people need options and a lot of people work with sensitive data and it would ensure they don't get to wear that watch at work. Which usually defeats the purpose of even wearing a watch for a lot of people.

Kind of funny how we've got 100 comments all saying the same thing about how horrible Facebook is, but we all know that half of them are from hypocrites that use Google products.

Most of the rest use DuckDuckGo and then there's other random search engines the rest use.

Anyways... it seems to me that this device is supposed to kind of be a smart-everything, not just a smartwatch or a smartphone. It's supposed to be attached to accessories to give the smart-form-factor you want at whatever time of day. The concept is intriguing. I could be persuaded to buy it, but I probably won't... I find it unlikely that it'll really do much of anything better than my iPhone and/or Apple Watch, or that it'll really have game changing features.

I think Neuralink is going to be the next (last?) tech frontier... that'll change everything.
And if you have managed to eradicate both Google and Facebook from your life, you’re still a hypocrite if you have a credit card, use Venmo, or really any type of bank account. You better be using cash and cash only for everything in your life or you are a hypocrite for talking about privacy.

Hahaha…THE hardest of all passes.

No one trusts FB and their hardware has been trash, so it will flop.
So you're saying I should stay away from Oculous?

My spellchecker in Firefox wants me to change Oculous to Locusts. I know that some people consider them a delicacy, but I usually try to stay away from them too; especially when they're thick enough to squish when stomping around outdoors. Makes a mess in the house unless you take your boots off first.

And THEN you've gotta avoid leaving them uncovered outdoors, because the next time you put your feet in them...well, let's just say that's squishy too.

yet I bet over 70% of the people on this site is still on FB..just to embarrassed to admit it

I not only own an Oculus Quest 2, but I LOVE it! I don't want them stealing my data for free, but when they're offering up VR, I'm willing to give a little. So I'll climb off my high horse before I end up falling and breaking a leg. Beside, the obvious answers have already been given in spades.

I'll just say, a detachable watch face, from ANY company, is something that gives me pause and I'd like to see it in action first.

Also, I think it would take something game changing to pry my Apple Watch off my arm. It's my least favorite Apple device, but when I had to go without it for a few months, it was missed WAY more than I expected.

I seriously thought this was a joke when I first saw it. I’d rather no watch than a Facebook watch.

They HAVE to be targeting other countries for this. Right? Nobody in the US will buy one of these.

Should be about as successful as the Facebook phone. Does anyone remember that hideous thing? Lol.

To me, FaceBook and Google are the equivalent of the cigarettes warning label on the box.
