After unboxing my 15" MBP 2.7 Touchbar Custom Build, the space gray finish had a scratch on it from the factory. #*!##*! 4 weeks 5 days of waiting for it and driving 2hrs to Delaware to pick it up tax free. Anyone else just resign themselves to live with similar defects in craftsmanship?
Problem is it would be nigh on impossible to prove that you didn't do that either - so you're probably stuck with it unless you're lucky and it develops a major defect like the graphical glitching, etc.
S h i t happens. Have you contacted Apple to see if they're correct the issue? It's been my experience Apple is more than willing to do so. If you have and they have not then return it and buy a Windows PC.
