Who says you have to do all that? Updates like that only come once a year, if not longer. You'd have a new phone by then.

Major updated are always once a year (how are they longer?). Also the the updates like 7.1, 8.1, and so on are bigger too and they come out a few times.

For someone who doesn't want to pay over 800 for a phone, 100 is a blessing even if it is 11 percent savings.

Not everyone buys a new iPhone every bloody year! So are you implying that everyone should buy a new iPhone every year?

Would I be on this forum if I didn't have all the latest Apple stuff? What would I talk about?

I thought I was helping. Helping you realize how to save money. Of course this advise isn't for everyone just a really good option.

People said it couldn't be done.

Don't flip out

As s side note, for carriers that offer wifi calling its a good battery saver. You can completely turn off cellular and still have coverage solely on wifi. The carrier brand even shows up on their iPhone as well.

It's like when the Xbox one first came out. Youre supposed to stream everything.

Ehh, games are still installed on the hard drive that are 40+GB most of the time. After the latest DDOS attacks crippling both systems, I'm glad MS dropped the DRM because I wasn't able to do anything with my console until selecting to go offline. Far Cry 4 was unplayable until I went offline for my Xbox One later on Christmas evening. The whole streaming thing was more or less about sharing games between one another.

It's kinda messed up when you look at the pricing.
So be happy with what works for you. What's he point of evangelizing siemthing that is personal and different for everyone? I like the color green, is there a reason to make a thread about it and how I like it and find it better than other colors? Nope.

Can we end this thread? Backup, reset to factory, update OTA and restore from backup? To save $100? And you have to do this each time there's an OTA update that won't fit on your phone?

I realize the OP likes these threads... it's like clickbait with a ******* ad inside.

No, I've only had to do it once. Ever. For the first iteration of iOS 8. Each smaller update works just fine.

It's really not all that cumbersome. It's literally an extra 5 minutes :/

Or you could, ya know, just update via iTunes once a year. I mean, if that's not too much trouble #

I thought I was helping.

Your posts are typically not helpful at all. This one, for example, where you assume that everyone else's needs are the same as your own. You assume that T-Mobile is an option for everyone else. You assume too much.

I do agree with you about Google play being a great service. So, there is that.

I still think there are many improvements to be made with the iPhone so I'm just not investing a whole lot of money into it right now.
