I don’t understand why greedy Tim Apple couldn’t have replaced the $159 AirPods with the new AirPods with wireless charging case. $40 for wireless charging? Steve Jobs didn’t increase the price of the iPod nano when Apple added video play back to the 3rd gen in 2007. He didn’t increase the price when they added video recording in 2009. iPhone pricing stayed the same until recently. Jobs would never have offered good, better, best. He just offered the best he could at the affordable well known and liked price points.
$149 should get you AirPods with wireless charging and the non wireless charging should be discontinued. AirPods Pro should be $199. Period.
If these were made in any other country, they’d be hit with cease and desist letters and then police raids. Being China however, Cook’s overlords will as always turn a blind eye to knockoffs.
For a bit of fun I purchased some fake standard AirPods from wish.com Around $30 AUD with wireless charging case. ( you have to look for second generation copies. The price difference is greater in this case. In Australia Standard AirPods with wireless case is an insane $319 AUD. So comparing these which are 10% of the price I must say I am impressed.
The Upside
Hey Siri
Wireless Charging
Great Battery Life
Sound is very very good. Good bass.
Tap controls work as per Apple
Popup appears on screen as per Apple Airpods
Battery Life on notifications screen as per Apple
I have dropped the case and earpods onto concrete a few times and still function fine.
Missing
Find My functionality. ( If I lose them big deal!)
Ability to customise controls or rename them. Dont get those options.
The downside
Mic is pretty bad. Almost unusable. But sometimes disconnecting and reconnecting to phone makes it better.
I got them for music and for a bit of fun and overall I am amazed. it makes me wonder how much money Apple make on the real things if they can make these which are so close to the original. These were a fraction of the cost of the real things.
would you really buy second-handed earbuds ??? I definitely NOT.This is good to know for anyone who might be lured into buying a second-hand set as a Christmas gift without the original packaging.
Yep. And these will pair very well with your ChiPhone too 😂these will go along quite nicely with your rolox.
I think these doesn't even worth $90 ...You get what you pay for, folks.
...you're never going to get the feature set, sound quality, and build quality that you get from Apple's own earbuds.
If it connects like the real thing and Hey Siri works, I think that mean they've successfully reverse-engineered or cloned the H1 chip.
Would the fakes exist if Apple hadn’t put in the R&D to make the real ones? 🤔
This is why nothing should be Made in China anymore. If it connects like the real thing and Hey Siri works, I think that mean they've successfully reverse-engineered or cloned the H1 chip.
I don't like paying too much for anything either, but give Apple credit where it's due. It's full of their R&D so why shouldn't they profit from that? The knock-off is theft. And also for a more fair price compared to the real deal. I'm interested now.

[/QUOTEThey are probably made in the same factory as the real ones. This is China after all.
It’s a shame that MacRumors profits from and provides free marketing for illegal counterfeit products like this.
This is disgusting. It is morally reprehensible. First off, why is Mac Rumors putting words to this other than outright condemnation? And how could anyone engaging in this forum think this is ok? This is not free trade — it is theft, pure and simple. If you had any scruples, this would be obvious to you.
Apple spends billions of dollar on r&d each year. That cost is built into each product they make. And do you know what else makes it into the cost calculation? The inevitable onslaught of lazy criminals that put out this garbage by stealing intellectual property. Theft is theft. If you think Apple charges too much for something you want, you have the freedom to not purchase it from them.
If you support or celebrate the type of brazen theft such as what is being reported on here, then you should be ashamed of yourself. You can try to justify it all you like, but the fact is that you are part of the problem.
Always amazed at how readily MR gives publicity to illegal IP thieves. Surprised Apple has never asked you to stop highlighting garbage knockoffs.
AirPods should be some made up price you made up in your head because some cheap knock offs that don't work properly are only $40? lol. Okaaaaay.I bought some fake AirPods back in February of this year from Wish. Paid like $40 shipped. A month later they showed up. The charging case doesn’t charge them with out being on a wireless charger on plugged in, and the cover on the case was super flimsy (since snapped off) and the battery life isn’t as good as real AirPods. BUT THEY WERE $40.
The case supports wireless charging (works well actually) and the sound is better than the AirPods. They fall out of my ears (just like the real deal) and they are quicker when you tap to pause/play. I think they are called the TWS i10. I’d recommend these over the $199 wireless charging AirPods unless you like the tighter integration of the real product. Also real AirPods come with a 1 year warranty and use genuine batteries.. Can't really speak for safety with these.
I can’t speak for these new knock offs though. I don’t understand why greedy Tim Apple couldn’t have replaced the $159 AirPods with the new AirPods with wireless charging case. $40 for wireless charging? Apparently some people think if a product costs more than they think it is worth or than they are willing to spend then it’s OK for somebody else to rip it off and price it cheaper. It’s disgusting. What’s more disgusting is only China seems to get away with this. If this was some product from the United States Apple would be suing them so fast it would make your head spin. But China? Crickets. This is disgusting. It is morally reprehensible. First off, why is Mac Rumors putting words to this other than outright condemnation? And how could anyone engaging in this forum think this is ok? This is not free trade — it is theft, pure and simple. If you had any scruples, this would be obvious to you.

What’s a fair price? Just some number you made up in your head. And also for a more fair price compared to the real deal. I'm interested now.
Orrrrrr..... Airpods work incredibly well and that's why people buy them...The sound quality of EarPods and AirPods is mediocre. Their primary consumers are those that buy everything apple because it's apple. Timmy cook thanks you for your loyal patronage. Apple's accessories have also been so-so.
But this blatant IPR is an example of the yin and the yang. Overpriced Apple products can't exist without Chinese knock-offs to counter-balance the market. Some hate one and some hate the other but both must exist in order to have equilibrium.
woohoo! i haven't seen an AngerDanger gif in awhile. Nice zippo caseThey first managed to a while ago with knockoff AirPods.
I had a pair for a while until I got curious, and, well…

Plenty of American companies do the same thing. For example Amazon - probably the biggest rip-off manufacturer in the world. If you have a successful product, Amazon will copy it, make it cheaper, and sell it under one of their dozen in-house brands. This is why nothing should be Made in China anymore.
