Is it one you got from EC or where did you get it? Makes me wonder.

Sorry, should have clarified - mine was from Caseswill

I bought three different variations on the Sector 5, each one came with a "fuzzy" backplate (or rubber in the case of the blackops) which were all cut JUST undersized enough that they looked bad on the phone, and an additional carbon fiber backplate which comes with a clear blue protective film over it. This was my culprit. I'd be interested to see if anyone else has the same experience as I did, but seriously the difference is night and day. My phone was burning down to 60% battery by noon (with virtually no use) at work, and yesterday without the sticker I still was at 92% by lunchtime. It was also experiencing a lot of the random stuff that happens when the phone THINKS it's connected to wifi but is getting poor signal quality - no push email, voicemails don't show up until I leave work and it drops back onto 4G, iMessages coming through to my computer but not my phone, etc. - and all of that is working just fine now.

I think I found a good solution for those who cannot get their headphone plug into the jack.

I don't know how much the shipping would be for this alone but it won't be more than 2 bucks (I ordered a 6 ft. headphone extension cable as well and the shipping came to $1.99). A few of the reviewers say they bought the adapter for the same reason and that it got the job done for them. Obviously this isn't to assume it will work with the fake Element case, but I have another Monoprice cable for aux out for my car and its plug fits the case fine (the plug design of it looks to be similar to the design of the adapter). Monoprice is always high quality stuff so I don't think there will be any audio quality loss issues. I couldn't tell you how many HDMI cables I've purchased from them over the years.

I will update in a few days once the plug comes in to verify whether it fits. I will also post photos of my aliexpress purchased case/phone.

I initially gave a link to the mobile product page so the above is the full product page. It just came in today and I can confirm that it fits on the case (got mine from aliexpress).

I got ghost armor on the sides of my phone.. So installing the rash guard on top is not possible. But ghost armor doesn't cover the chamfered edge. Anyone else in a similar situation? Will not installing the rash guard scratch up the chamfered edge? Any output would be appreciated!

I order my Sector 5 case from aliexpress and the quality is excellent compare to caseswill.com. My case came to my mailbox 12 days after i order from aliexpress vs. a months and a half from caseswill.com. oooh ohhh and i got it for $16.50 shipped:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes: ($40:eek:)

Mine got scratched a bit because I forced it in with the bodyguardz full body shield but if you're careful when installing then you should not have any problems with it. I think it looks good with a few scratches here and there because it shows some age and experience, but that is just my opinion.

Ordered a Fake Gun Metal Sector 5 off of eBay last week for $27.00. Got it yesterday and for the money, it's worth it, to me, at least. Bumper looks good, not cheap. Has the black links, which I was kind of worried about since most of the Gun Metal ones on eBay show clear ones, figured I would have wound up with clear anyway. Installed the rash guards for now, got a few lucky labs wraps coming, they seemed to go on pretty easy, though i didn't bother to heat them to fit properly. Only downside is the back plate. It fits fine, covers the entire back, but i was worried since it felt much more sticky than the real back plate i had for my 4s, so i tried pulling it up and the suede started separating from the glued plastic piece. No biggie as i ordered a black one from Element anyway, but overall, for $27.00 shipped, it's worth it. Managed to pick up a Fake Black Ops frame for $15.00 on Friday off of eBay, so for $57.00 I got the Gun Metal frame and all the stuff that came with that, the Black Ops frame and whatever will come with that, and a real Element backing. I'm happy with that.

Hands down Caseswill. To Northern Calif. 10 days (not business days). I don't remember exact number of days for DX-BOX, but much longer.

I think that varies depending on their shipping schedule and customs time; I'm in Santa Barbara and have had Caseswill orders take anywhere from 2-4 weeks.

The adhesive they use for back pieces is universally HORRIBLE. Removal of any back piece except maybe the black ops rubber one = destruction. And the black ops rubber piece is the one you'll never want to use again anyway.

It took me about 20 minutes with isopropyl alcohol and a microfiber cloth to get the glue off the back of my phone. Just FYI.

You may not be able to fit the case on at all with Ghost Armor installed. The sector cases (or at least the clones) are VERY fitment sensitive. I could barely fit mine with side pieces from Slickwraps installed, and they don't cover the chamfer either. The rash guards they include do work well, and even though they don't cover the chamfer I've had no scratches on my phone after installing and removing 3 different versions of the Sector clone.

My best result fitment-wise actually came from wrapping the edges with electrical tape and trimming it to width with a razor blade. But electrical tape leaves a nasty residue and tends to accumulate some gunk at the edges.

Anyone seen any fake Black Ops Elite cases? May be too soon for them but would like to find some.

the ONLY thing i dont like is that the rubber backing is a tad small as you can see....

So you've had this for about a month. My question is, is that black "anodized" finish wearing off? I put quotes around anodized because I'm not sure if it is or is it painted? What's your opinion on that?

VERY little wearing off on the corner where the logo is at...im not using the pouch though...not bad, still looks good :)

For those that ordered from China based companies like Caseswill and DX-Box, how's the shipping time and customs charges?

I'm seriously thinking of ordering

See #385 in this thread.

I've ordered since that post. Caseswill order took about a week longer than the 10 days I mentioned.

I ordered two off of eBay and got them each within a week. Paid $27 shipped for a Gunmetal FE (with the black connectors instead of clear). Included all the other accessories that normally come with these. Paid $15 shipped for a Black Ops frame and accessories, less the back plate and holster. Ordered an ultrasuede back plate from Element along with the side grips and the Tactical holster, which seems to work pretty well, for a little over $30 after discounts and "Rewards" points (not entirely sure how i got those, but it equated to $5). So if you're concerned about shipping, may want to keep an eye on eBay as there are some cheaper deals out there than the normal $49.99 Black Ops knock offs.

I've got a fake case which I bought off eBay. It's quite a good copy IMO.

I thought it was, however, effecting the wifi on the phone - I would be sitting in the same room as my home network but I was only getting 1-2 bars of wifi and not the full 3.

I also had a fake carbon plastic back, which I thought looked quite good. I took the case off but it didn't make any difference to the wifi?! I thought it was a little strange - there was no way a back could effect the wifi could it?! I took off the carbon back and almost instantly my wifi jumped back to 3!

The wifi on the iPhone 5 must be situated somewhere on the back of the phone as opposed to around the sides - it's weird that a fake carbon back sticker can effect it?! Oh well - it's off now anyway but still have the element case on the phone. Awaiting the fake 'attack back plate ' to come now - let's hope I don't have issues with that as well!!!!

The WIFI antenna is behind the top glass panel. That's why it's not aluminum. It's been known in this forum that carbon fiber does adversely effect signal reception and transmission. Why do you think the panel is fake? It seems obvious that its not. I wasn't aware there is a fake Element attack back plate. That one is carbon fiber but it's not over the glass and doesn't effect WIFI.

I am curious about the Caseswill Sector 5 and Black Ops. There has been all kinds of speculation about is it painted or anodized. Now that they have been out there for a while, do people believe the aluminum ones are anodized? More importantly, either way how is the finish standing up? Does the finish rub of after months of sliding in and out of pockets or holsters. I'm not referring to key or hard object damage. Does continuous cloth or leather friction cause the coating to rub off?

I had the caseswill blackops version for a while and it was definitely painted.

First off, I can tell anodization from paint, and it was paint. Anodization doesn't show under spray in areas.

Second, you can't anodize zinc alloy. It wasn't aluminum, it was a zinc alloy, probably zamak.

You probably know that they sell two versions at a slightly different price. If it is the zinc version it's for sure paint. I want to hear from someone with the aluminum version that doesn't have an uneven coating. By the way, did the paint wear off of your zinc one, with normal use.
