For some reason, both the Vapor Comp and Vapor Pro IMPROVES my iPhone 4's reception. My averages in field test mode, all at roughly the same position on a stand (ie. NOT held in hand):

Vapor Comp: -57.5
Vapor Pro: -55
BARE, no case: -65
Blade: -75

Variables: roughly the same spot on a stand, but can't say EXACTLY. Also, different days, but I took the average.

:rolleyes:weird.

lol, it doesn't improve it.

The signal on your phone fluctuates a lot more than you think, but the field test numbers don't update super fast.

The signal is almost always going up and down.

Pretty much, the vapor pro and comp have NO effect on any of the signal whatsoever.

I wait before jotting down the numbers. It updates every 5 seconds. Sometimes it fluctuates, sometimes it doesn't, which probably means I have waited enough time before quitting.

Please do, my sides are kind of annoying lol. I hate seeing the metal bezel :(.

got my orange/silver vapor pro from caseswill. so far it is fantastic. no adjustments to the foam and it hits like a glove. i've never seen a real one but i can't imagine its worth 5 times the price. would definitely consider getting another one.

just got both my comps from caseswill. one of them is fine..no issues, however the other is non useable. the screws were on way too tight to the point where they weren't coming off...and on top of that one of the screws was already stripped.

I emailed them about it, so i guess i'll wait to see what they say.

Here's how I have the foam set up in both of my Comps:

For the Comps, I cut the bottom pad roughly in half and aligned the remaining piece right to the edge of the speaker cut out. I took the remaining half and after aligning the original top foam with the slot cut out, added this second piece right at the end of the original.

And here's how it is in my Pro:

I hope that helps some folks out.

I received my R8 and it doesn't fit unless you actually remove the padding. Also the side by the mute switch is made so close, you can't even move the switch up and down when the case is actually together. Curious to see what there exchange policy is.

Anyone know if someone sells the back Ultrasuede stickers individually?

I'll sell u mine since I don't need it with my clear glass back. Pm me with an offer and I'll stick it in the mail today.

Thanks for the photos - what did that improve?

Just wanted to upload some of my pics of this case.

This is after 2 months of owning...

I have Dropped this case multiple times, and still barely any scratches at all. For something 130 dollars less than the real one, it has really amazed me. Signal quality is outstanding. Usually always get full bars.

I get compliments whenever I take it out. If you are hesitant on ordering, don't be. Has been easily the best case I have owned for my iPhone.

I have had the E13ctron (real one) and the metal case-mate. This beats them by far and is less money.

Sad part is, these companies are selling these things for way too much money. I was talking to my brother about how they always advertise "AirCraft Aluminum Grade"....He laughed (he works for NASA) and said thats just about as cheap as it gets while using numbers to fit that type of metal, 90 something. So it makes sense why the knockoffs are so damn affordable.

Vapor Case should be ashamed for the real ones over 100. Get the knockoff and save your money. Well worth it.

For the Comps, the cases fit with little play and almost no bowing of the plastic side. For the Pro, the case fits flawlessly. No wiggle, no play, no stretching of the plastic/aluminum joint.

thanks - it's really sticky! i'll try messing with it tonight . yes i do see that there is bowing on the right side

Are there any cheap US based stores to purchase Comps from (just to cut down on shipping time) ?

Otherwise I'll use Caseswill and wait :)

edit: Actually, what about casesinthebox? idk. Where should I buy from and what shipping method should I use to get it asap? I assume DHL but again, not really sure.

Thankies :D

I have an order for a Royal Purple in to Caseswill. My Pro and Comps are all from Jacky Lin.

I was able track my order and communicate with Jacky Lin. I can't even log into Caseswill to check my order status. So my recommendation (right now) goes to Jacky unless there's something you want that he doesn't have.

If you can pony up for it, spring for the DHL.

thanks. i think i will give mine a couple days to settle out first. i see a little bowing on the non-button side. not enough for light to get through but i can tell. its perfectly tight with no wiggle so i am hesitant to mess with it. i may also just be overanalyzing this thing since i am pretty shocked how good it is for the $$

where did you buy your R8 Pro from? I just ordered the white/black one from caseswill a few days ago and it should be here in a week or two, but how does it not fit well? Can you post pics?

Also is the mute switch issue too close because maybe you have an AT&T iPhone? I have a Verizon and I know the switch placement is different so maybe that could be good...

Does anybody have a picture of a white (any variant) with a black iPhone? I guess this must not be a popular combination but it sounds to met like it would look cool. I don't really want to buy one though before I see what it would look like.

Here you go :D

has anybody had any of the screw get stripped? if so, how were you able to get them out?

i have two that are now stripped and not sure if there is any easy way to get them out so i can swap them with the spares i have.

Thanks so much, that does look super sharp! Which finish is that, the matte powder coat or the glossy hot rod white? It looks like the glossy in the pictures. How does it hold up?

EDIT: Where di you get it? Caseswill seems to have the COMP in the matte only and the PRO in the glossy only. The glossy PRO was the one I was actually considering.

I have a Deff Cleave from casseswill that came with one screw too tight to get out and the head stripped. I just gave up on it for now and make sure that I don't tighten the screws very tight. It seems that the caseswill screws and drivers are not very good. I wonder if the real thing has better one (I would hope so for the price difference!)?

Screws stripped as well

I ordered my white vapor comp from caseswill and after 3 weeks for shipping I get my case and its useless, 2 screws just sit and spin in the plastic part of the case. I cannot get them out. I contacted the seller 3 times by email and they ignored me, finally when I disputed my paypal payment they finally contacted me and asked for me to ship it back....the USPS charges 16.95 to send back........lame.

they got back to me and gave me this response:

Hello,

Sorry for late reply, you should use the screwdriver to get them off
carefully, very few customers have this issue, the screws is still one the
case? Thanks.

yes....thanks for the obvious about using the screwdriver lol. i replied to that response and told them the screws are stripped and would like a replacement but yet to get a reply...but if shipping comes out to that much, im better off just ordering another one.

i haven't disputed the costs yet, but i might if they don't get back to me

I ordered my white from caseswill.com few days ago and I'm now scared about the quality.

I hope this is an isolated incident and not all cases are like that.

stripped screws

Some people are lucky and their screws came out, but screwing metal into plastic isn't always going to work out well. I was hoping caseswill would resolve this issue and they have not come forward to do so. It's disappointing.
