I don't know if I can answer that. There's way too much to choose from. Your Smith's tune is great dynamicv. And I love that whole Tears for Fears CD redAPPLE. I think that was one of my first CDs. U2 had tons of great music in the 80s. And The Police is still one of my favorite bands (saw them twice). THEN there's the genre of PFunk: Parlaiment, Bootsy, George Clinton. And Prince had several releases in the 80s (saw him once). 10,000 Maniacs (saw them once) still ring true to my heart. My first concerts were Peter Frampton, Earth, Wind and Fire, and the Commodores. A friend got me hooked on R.E.M. (saw them once). The Smithereens' "Especially for You" CD came out, too (saw them three times).
