i just got done readin the free ice cream thread and inspired me on tihs one, now i dont know if they have this in the UK, but i love Cold Stones. its pretty cool. they make your flavor of ice cream right in front of you. like they start with a basic flavor put a big glob on a cold stone....hence the name. add whatever you want to it, chocolate, brownies, nuts, whatever they have so much stuff. and its so GOOD! man all this ice cream talk im starving over here!! :(
so whats your favorite ice cream store?

Gotta agree with you on Cold Stone Creamery. Mmmmm. We were just there a couple of weeks ago. Too cold to think about it right now, though!

My favorite ice cream store is one that carries banana ice cream. It's always the first thing that I check. Sadly no many do. We were looking at the Chocolate Factory on Valentine's, but no banana ice cream.

Good timing. I already had a "date" arranged for CSC tomorrow night with friends, and now I'm "forced to" go to Baskin Robbins tonite. And now we have a thread to get me in the mood for both.

Hmmm... what flavors should I try?

Coldstones!!! They don't have it in Canada (or at least not that I knwo of) but last time I was in Palm Springs I had it and it was amazing! WAAAY better than ben and Jerry's. I wish they in Vanocuer :(

My favorite specific place to get ice cream is the Ben & Jerry's factory in Vermont, near Stowe. So many choices! And if you take the factory tour, they let you try a couple samples of new, yet-to-be-released ice cream flavors!

But since I live in Connecticut and make it to B&J's maybe once a year or so, I'm going to have to agree with everyone else voting for Cold Stone! They've just sprung out of nowhere here in CT over the last few months and there are now a few of them around...including one that's 2 minutes away from me...

mmmmmnnnn, ice cream...must get ice cream...now...who cares if it's freezing out!?!?!?

Ben & Jerry's no questions asked! I have a freezer stocked full of at least 8 pints of B&J, and even more if my brother is home. MMMMMMMMMM :D

dumb question to ask me but coldstone...yummmmmmm :p
Althought i'm not in the mood, as i just got back from cheese cake factory in Chestnut hill MA, should have gone to apple store accross the street, instead i ended up at abercrombie (i got a sweater for $9.90  )

Not in any particular order, just when I'm in:
Costa Rica - Pops
Ecuador - Mimos
Ohio, Indiana - Graeter's
N Jersey - Snugburry's
Missouri - Kauffman's
Massachussets - Peaceful Meadow Farm
Philadelphia - Bassett's and Breyers
No. Cal. - Farrell's and Ben & Jerry's (voted #6 in world's favorite places to pig out...but Lambert's was #1, so that's suspect).
Haagen Daz - just about anywhere which, by the way was invented by a guy named Mattus, not Daz.
Dove Bars and Magnums when and were I can get'm.

I like ice cream:D

Cold Stone is good, but its too thick for me. After 3 bites I am sick of it.

I like Baskin Robbins.

you mean Baskin Ripoffs?

I like Cold Stone (friend works there)
Sweet Retreat (double the ice cream of baskin ripoffs at same price)
Brocks (Yuba City, CA, homemade ice cream)

steve's ice cream: boston
the juice bar: nantucket
thomas sweet ice cream: washington dc

Sorry, but I have to point this out. Where's T. Sweet's? That's right. Georgetown. Just admit Georgetown is better than GW. :D

I don't even know if it still exists, but, back in the early eighties, there was the most magical ice cream emporium in Hollywood Florida called Jacksons Ice Cream Parlour. Does anyone else out there know of this amazing place?
As for favorite recent ice cream,
Godiva: Belgium Dark Chocolate.

They've recently opened a Marble Slab here (which I suspect is the same concept as Cold Stones), but I've only been there once and so I'm not a "convert" yet. Regardless of whether they win me over in the end, I think I'll probably be a lifelong fan of Baskin Robbins' "Gold Medal Ribbon", though. ;)

Where have you found banana ice cream? Love to try it.

Baskin Robbins, the way it was in the 80's. Or even in the old Thrifty's drug stores, their little ice cream stands with the cylindrical ice cream scoops, and Chocolate Malted Crunch! There's some fond childhood memories right there. :)
