why do I dislike the MBP?
it is not so much that I dislike it but I dislike the fact that a lot of people have it. The main reason I dislike it is the edges are sharp (imo) and are uncomfortable. Thats just my opinion. Diff products for diff people.

    I will continue:

    What I like:
    iPad 1
iPod shuffle 1g and the dock!!!
    apple composite cable
    facetime
    apple packaging

    Dislike:
    bumper's
the first macbook air (still neat though. now I love them)

I know what you mean about the sharp edges, If I do any form of WASD gaming I have to use an external keyboard because the edge catches my wrist!

    I shall continue as well:

    Favorite:
    iPad 2
    Packaging for the win!
    Back-lit keyboard.

    Dislike:
Lack of a dedicated audio input on the 13" MBP
    Lion Gestures
    Mission Control

Just curious, why don't you like the magsafe adapters.

I always thought they were a pretty good idea.

No sarcasm, seriously interested in why you don't like them.:)

I love the magsafe but understand why people could hate them. I have had awesome luck with mine, but my friend had her wires basically explode.

System Software 7.x was unbelievably stable. 7.5.5 could run on anything from the SE to the Quadra, Centris, and Power Macs. You're talking nearly 10 years of backwards compatibility, from 1991 - 2001.

Did I mention that it is still available?

    Anywho...

    Like:
MBA, iPhone. all beautiful pieces of art, and performs wonderfully.
Mac Powerbook Duo. First Mac laptops to slot into a docking station. Gorgeous for its time.

    Dislike:
Apple III, Apple III+. Both of them designed by marketers, and especially with the III+, an $8000 pink elephant. However, it did bring about designs that went into the iMac, like no fans or vents. But it wasn't the same as the IIe.

Favourites: Most products, especially the old 20" silver iMac and the Mac Pro I have - which is without exception the finest computer I've had the pleasure of using. It is just remarkable!

Least: iPhone when it doesn't behave properly, all Apple mice, they are just not very nice but special mention goes to the round iMac mouse of the old days. Also dislike the small iPods without screens. Oh, and the "Finder error" in old Mac OS versions with only the restart button. I hated that!

I always wonder if there is a way to gut out the base of an iMac g4 and put mac mini parts inside it. I would love to have that computer with modern parts.

    Favorites of the past:

    1. iMac G3 - the design is a staple to my childhood. I remember going to a new school where they had them and was absolutely astonished at them... their design, their software, everything.

    2. 12" PowerBook G4 - I never had one, but I have seen one and am amazed at how sweet these things were.

    3. Mac OS X Tiger - Seems like the best and most solid OS X version for it's time. I loved it.

    Favorites of the present:

    1. Current Generation Anti-Glare MacBook Pro - This current generation was a winner moreso than others for its time. Not only did they stuff a quad-core processor into it and the high-end model has an lower upper-tier graphics card, but the battery life is great too.

    2. iPod Shuffle - I love all the models of the shuffle except for the ridiculous one where you use your voice to command it. No MP3 is quite like it.

    Least favorite of the past:

    1. Non-unibody MacBooks - although the blackbook looked slick, these suffered from TERRIBLE quality control issues that I just despised. I had one throughout middleschool and high school and the build quality just wasn't there.

    2. Third-Generation iPod Shuffle - ridiculously stupid design and idea. Glad they went back.

    Least favorites of the present:

    1. Current generation Nano - they went down in features to further promote the iPod touch basically.

    2. Mac Mini - Way too expensive for what you get... if it had both a Quad-Core processor AND a dedicated graphics card for $799, maybe it would be worth it. Maybe.

    3. Mac OS X Lion - It is a resource hog, it is still buggy, and it lowers the MacBook Pro battery life by an hour or two. I can't really name one feature I want in it.
