There won’t be killer app on this form factor. It’s way too clunky.
Form comes first, then find ways to fit the tech in.
Oura ring is a good to wear ring, and then they fit as much sensors into it to detect vitals.
Meta rayban is a pair of glasses you can wear everyday, and then they cramp as much functionality into it as possible.

Start with a goggle, doesn’t really matter how much computing power you put into the goggle.
If they put am Apple watch chip into a pair of glasses, and bring the same apps/notifications to a tiny display. Then add EMG to apple watch to track gestures.. it would sell like a hot cake
It doesn’t have to be in this specific form factor; it simply needs to be created. I’m confident that the killer app in question will evolve and eventually be available on other form factors. I’m just glad that Apple is providing developers with the necessary tools to think creatively and develop the apps that we may not even realize we need. They have to start somewhere.

I wish Apple would give visionOS more features. For the price, you would think Apple would make visionOS their innovation playground.

No WiFi 7 in the upcoming Vision Pro or MBP is disappointing... was hoping to establish an ultra low latency connection with a WiFi 7 router nearby. Would have been amazing for gaming, where the current input lag is perceptible.

Multiple leaks today! Think Apple will launch all these devices together very soon. Hopefully the next Vision Pro will have a wider availability. Not sure whether there will be a price reduction.

I don’t question this aspect but I seriously doubt Apple’s intention for Vision Pro originally was only for developers

What is the "built for AVP" app category like nowadays, do companies still bother to invest in it? I hardly hear about this product anymore. I remember my former company tried (regional public broadcaster in Germany) and we got 8 (daily) downloads at its peak so we stopped developing for it

$3500??? If the price won't significantly decrease then thats going to be a major lose for apple. If they plan on releasnig this AVP 1.2 the price should start around $1500. So many things they need to address and this is a very modest update with M5 chip while keeping everything else the same and wanting to keep the price the same as the original AVP? Ridiculous.

I do find it amusing that the first AVP came out and received a mixed reaction, all went quiet, and now theres talk of an AVP2? Did the first product get the attention and support that was justified by Apple?
It has its own OS, its own software platform, and has had continuous development. This is not some accessory. It's a long term product for Apple, they haven't even gone global or tried to get more affordable with it yet - a $3,500 device was never gonna set the world on fire. Apple is not strapped for cash and there's absolutely no need to pull the plug prematurely while there are a lot of companies still exploring AR/VR, even if none of it has gone mainstream yet.

Did Apple forget all the disasters of the first Vision Pro? No one wants it Apple. No one. People want lightweight affordable portable tech, not overpriced overheating useless skigoogles with Apple logo strapped to their head.

The United States Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has seemingly confirmed Apple's work on an updated version of the Vision Pro headset.

fcc-vision-pro-leak.jpg

One of several documents the FCC shared today references an Apple-designed "Head Mounted Device" with a model number of A3416. An included image confirms the device is a Vision Pro.

The FCC's uploads are transmission tests, SAR test reports, and WLAN test reports, so there's not a lot of additional product information available. We do know that the next Vision Pro will continue to have Wi-Fi 6, as there's no sign of 6GHz Wi-Fi in the testing that the FCC did.

According to rumors, Apple is working on a refreshed version of the Vision Pro that has a faster M5 chip. The headset isn't expected to feature design updates, with Apple simply updating the M2 chip to a newer, more capable M-series chip. The updated Vision Pro could launch before the end of the year, and it will likely continue to be priced at $3,499.

The FCC's files include a confidentiality request from Apple, but the documents were published anyway. The FCC also shared documents that hint at future MacBook Pro and iPad Pro models.

A slimmed-down "Vision Air" is in development too, but we aren't expecting that until 2027.

AVP is a public beta/developer product for folks with a bag of money they don’t know what to do with. I see where few people can find any practical use for it. I’m sure some people can find a use for it but not most. Not for the cost. It’s expensive, bulky, lacks software support.

I mean, I see the point of putting it out there. You got the whole chicken and egg thing going on. Someone has to make applications for it before it’s useful. Until they can sell a lot of them it’s gonna be expensive. I see the future potential of it in all sorts of fields and applications. It has the potential to be a transformative product. But right now it’s just a glorified developer’s tool you can/have to buy.

The product will iterate like any other product. For that, iterations need to come out. That's how it works.
Exactly. Eventually every feature in this product will end up in an Apple product someone here will buy in the next five years, especially the smart glasses.
