Did Apple forget all the disasters of the first Vision Pro? No one wants it Apple. No one. People want lightweight affordable portable tech, not overpriced overheating useless skigoogles with Apple logo strapped to their head.
“No one wants it Apple. No one.”

Can we stop with this continuous nonsense every time the VisionPro comes up ?

People want this tech. They want it so much that Meta sold MORE Quest 3 headsets than Xbox’s and PlayStations together last Christmas ! That’s how much of a “failure” VR headsets are.

Let me repeat that again in case it wasn’t clear : They sold MORE Quest 3 headsets than Xbox’s and PlayStations together last Christmas. You think Apple wouldn’t want a device that solds more than the 2 most popular gaming consoles ?

The real failure of Apple’s VP is the insane price. The Quest 3 is 450 € . The VP is 4000 € , 10 times the price and it isn’t 10 times more technically advanced than the Quest. Probably more like 2 or 3 times more advanced, and it’s heavier. I can wear the Quest for hours with no fatigue. I tested the VP for 30 minutes and I can’t figure out how I could wear something so heavy for more than an hour .

No no Im saying when I updated ios 26 from ios 18 I saw under settings>General>Iphone storage scroll down close to the bottom it says apple vision pro 78kb but I dont have vision pro so I dont know why or how its on there.
Click on it and tap the delete button. It will go away. It’s not instant though. But even if you couldn’t do that what big plans do you have for that massive 78k chunk of storage?

WHY DON'T THEY REMOVE THE STUPID EXTERNAL SCREEN. I can't stand it. It's just an obvious design win but they're keeping it because they're stubborn.
I completely agree with this, in its current form it is basically useless and like 90% of the time my wife cant even really see my eyes (which was the whole idea).

I wish Apple would give visionOS more features. For the price, you would think Apple would make visionOS their innovation playground.
Apple is strongly pushing updates and features, I'd argue it is their most frequently updated OS, that being said given that this is a "spatial computer" it really needs to do more computer things like Xcode, Final Cut, and other professional apps. Yes I can use mac screen mirroring but for 3.5k it needs to really run it natively.

I have no problem spending 4k on a computer, hell I did so with my M4 Max Studio, the AVP needs to be at least that useful if you want to call it a "spatial computer"

Be interesting to see if the new AVP has any features that the current AVP does not. I'm waiting to pick up a used AVP for under $1,500, and they're holding at around $2k near me.

If there are no killer new features, then I can't see a slew of upgraders wanting to ditch the old set for the new.

For me it's going to come down to how much Apple offers for the trade-in.

That is gaming

The AVP is not in that space.

If they get into that space, then we can talk about it and I would be interested assuming, again, a price cut.

Gaming isn’t the only use for VR headsets. I don’t own a single game on my Quest. Just because you would only be interested in a VR headset if you can game on it , doesn”t mean it’s the case for everyone else.

This is the naysayers reminder that the Vision Pro is not for you. Some day there will be a smaller and more affordable profit that exists because the Vision Pro led the way. It's for early adopters.

What if it's just "not"?

The future is unwritten.

I don't think there's any mainstream future for this form factor, because I don't there is a future where we are all sitting around with socially isolating scuba masks on.

Now, if you mean a more expansive vision of some future AR type of product, I can go with you more.

Decreasing the weight of the device and increasing the refresh rate would have been very welcome followed by another weight decrease and FOV increase in 2027 with an M7.

The United States Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has seemingly confirmed Apple's work on an updated version of the Vision Pro headset.

fcc-vision-pro-leak.jpg

One of several documents the FCC shared today references an Apple-designed "Head Mounted Device" with a model number of A3416. An included image confirms the device is a Vision Pro.

The FCC's uploads are transmission tests, SAR test reports, and WLAN test reports, so there's not a lot of additional product information available. We do know that the next Vision Pro will continue to have Wi-Fi 6, as there's no sign of 6GHz Wi-Fi in the testing that the FCC did.

According to rumors, Apple is working on a refreshed version of the Vision Pro that has a faster M5 chip. The headset isn't expected to feature design updates, with Apple simply updating the M2 chip to a newer, more capable M-series chip. The updated Vision Pro could launch before the end of the year, and it will likely continue to be priced at $3,499.

The FCC's files include a confidentiality request from Apple, but the documents were published anyway. The FCC also shared documents that hint at future MacBook Pro and iPad Pro models.

A slimmed-down "Vision Air" is in development too, but we aren't expecting that until 2027.

The absolute number 1 thing this needs to have is better battery life. Whilst this isn’t a product I’d be interested in, having a better battery would prove to me that Apple is actually fully invested and trying to prepare for miniaturisation to get the features of this product into a form factor that makes sense. If this comes with the same “2 hour” battery life when we have MacBooks lasting over 24 hours it shows me where Apple’s focus truly lies.

Yes I tried to click on it to delete it and it didnt do anything. And why is it your business? If I dont want it taking up storage then I dont want it taking up storage. Its not your business. We should be allowed to delete it like u said and Im saying we can't

This is actually true. Apparently iOS 26 has a small file related to setting up a Vision Pro. But at that size, it’s nothing to worry about.
Yea see, I was right. They added it on there even when I dont even have vision pro. Its like when they gave me the home app when I dont have the home app. I deleted that app but it still shows up under iphone storage or settings>apps. Same with the health app which I deleted too. Its so lame

If I dont want it taking up space then I should be allowed to delete it. Apple is preventing this. LAWSUIT LAWSUIT LAWSUIT. I HAVE A RIGHT TO SUE THEM IF I CHOOSE. YOU DONT GET A SAY IN THAT
As Apple would say
...sosumi go ahead it won't be me stopping you losing money, a big deal about 78 KB in a 256 GB world...
