My reports on my 27" iMac delivered to Sydney, Australia.

I have managed to use it for about 6 hours so far. I'll tell you it is beautiful, way lighter than I expected, and the screen is lovely and bright. I have noticed a very slight yellow tinge towards the bottom of the screen, however it is only very slight (I tend to be very particular about these things), and after some use I'm not really noticing it any more. I tested for image retention, at about 90% brightness setting, and have not seen any as of yet. Also have not seen any bleeding of backlight, and brightness is quite uniform across the screen.

The thing is blazingly fast with the 1TB Fusion drive. It is also completely silent, although once I have all my audio stuff setup it will start to get pushed so we'll see what difference that makes.

I have also installed an external MOTU Track16 audio interface. This interface works wonderfully with the iMac, and I had no issues installing it at all. It can work over USB3 but I opted for a Thunderbolt to Firewire cable, and connect it via Firewire... This all works great. The Track16 can be controlled on my iPad using TouchOSC... A brilliant experience.

I have also hooked the iMac up to my Samsung HDTV via a mini-displayport to HDMI adapter. This works great also, no issues whatsoever.

Apple TV mirroring works great too for those interested in this.

I am awaiting delivery of 32GB of G-Skill MAC ram to install, and am also awaiting delivery of a Promise Pegasus R4 4TB RAID external drive, these should both arrive on Monday and I'll report back on them too.

Downloaded and installed Logic Pro via the App Store, painless. Am waiting until my external drive arrives before I install all my plugins and sample libaries etc. With this new 10.8.3 update apparently some issues people were seeing with plugins causing logic not to respond should be resolved. I will report if I experience any problems setting up all this.

Overall, I'm very happy with the iMac, but if anything crops up, I'll be sure to let you guys know.

Just a note, mine was assembled in Shanghai.

DISPATCHED!

Being sent from Cork, Ireland...

UPS say it will be delivered on Monday 18th March

One happy man right here!!!

We :apple: Apple

Could you let me know what/when you ordered? I'm still having the ongoing saga with Apple, and every time I call I am being told something different...

One of their agents last night offered me a free Magic Trackpad for my trouble, so I have that in writing as well.

My custom 3.4GHz/8GB/1TB Fusion/680MX iMac was ordered on Feb 18. The status just this morning went to "Preparing for Dispatch". Hopefully it'll be sent soon. It's been pretty much 1 month on "Processing items".

Mine is technically a March order but thought i'd chip in. Ordered my BTO on 2nd March 2012, just went from Processing into Preparing to Dispatch. Money has gone from my account too. Looking for to receiving sometime next week i gather.
•3.4GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
•8GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM-2X4GB
•3TB Fusion Drive
•NVIDIAGeFrc GTX 680MX 2G GDDR5

That was quick! Where are you? I presume you're not in Europe with that time. ;)

I'm in London, UK. I was surprised it was so quick too but i've heard of other getting their's in a week from the UK. I think it depends on the model you order. If you order the stock model with no changes you'll probably get it in a week.

That's great, I'm glad people are getting them quicker now. Apart from me getting the 1GB version of the Fusion Drive, I ordered the same model as you. I spoke to Apple yesterday as well over 2 weeks ago it (the German Apple Store) said dispatched in 1-2 weeks for my exact model. The woman on the phone told me she thought something wasn't right and that she'd get back to me. I got an email saying there's nothing I can do but wait. As mentioned, however, it's finally in "Preparing for dispatch" now so I hope to get it fairly soon! :)

I think there are many people in your situation where you ordered up to or over a month ago and still havent received it. I think there are some people on here that ordered in December from Resellers who still havent got theirs. I really feel for them. I would have gone insane. Well good news is that we both at the "preparing for dispatch" stage and we'll have it in the next few days. Cant wait. All the waiting will be worth it in the end.

My Feb 18 order went to "Preparing for Shipment" this morning and has just changed to "Dispatched". As it changed to dispatched, the estimated delivery date on the Apple Store was March 21 then minutes later it was March 22. I checked the tracking code with UPS and it's estimated to be delivered by the end of the day on March 20, haha - three different days in a few minutes. Either way, I'll keep tracking it and hopefully get a more accurate date soon. It's currently in Cork, Ireland.

Had to cancel this initial order when my hot water tank kicked the bucket. Re-ordered the same spec computer on Mar. 2nd. Computer just shipped out yesterday, expected to get it on Monday, Mar 18th!

And my new iMac has arrived! :D

Now for the dreaded wait time of migrating all my stuff to the new machine...

My Feb 20th order today went to Preparing and then Dispatched. I paid the extra £8 for Express Delivery, not sure that makes any difference as the current estimate for the delivery is next Tuesday, the 19th.

Configuration:
27-inch iMac
3.4GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
8GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM-2X4GB
1TB Fusion Drive
NVIDIAGeFrc GTX 680MX 2G GDDR5
APPLE MAGIC TRACKPAD

I ordered mine (with CPU upgrade) on Feb 22nd... told then delivery date of March 26th. It arrived 3 days ago... Mar 12th

Got my 2 outboard 19" monitors on it.... external 2T worth of disk drives... Migrated everything from my old MacPro.... and its good to go :)

Looks to me it's the graphics cards or CPU's causing most delays.

I thought the 3TB Fusion Drive would cause mine to delay but it took 9 days from ordering to receiving it.

It actually came a day before my delivery date too. So I never received any texts and actually went to UPS in the evening to collect it.

It's Dispatched

After 37 days, my order has finally been dispatched! :) I didn't even see it go to Preparing for Shipment as I have been at work all day, but I am over the moon now! It's currently saying delivery on the 21st March, I'm hoping for the 19th (it shouldn't take UPS more than 48 hours to get a machine from Ireland to here).

Apple have also promised me a free Magic Trackpad for my issues, which right now (touch wood) makes me a happy customer.

My Feb. 28 order finally went to "Preparing to Ship" this morning, and then "Dispatched" tonight! It's shipping with TNT, apparently (I'm in Hungary), but I can't seem to get any tracking details from their website. Does anyone know how I might find out where it's shipping from, etc.? Is it perhaps just too early for them to have info available?

At the moment, all I know is the far-end estimate of the 25th that Apple gave me. I'm hoping for sooner.....

Let me know how it goes, and yes I think Apple have realised that they have done wrong on this one.

Is the "dispatched" stage only for non-USA orders? From looking at my tracking, it goes from processing-preparing-shipped.

Dispatched is the same as Shipped, the two words mean pretty much the same thing - its just in Europe, we don't ship things we dispatch them!

Ordered 7th of Feb. Still processing... I might get the first price for the latest ever delivered imac in history... Called them twice, nothing they can do... If that thing arrives here with any... and i mean ANY flaws i will go ballistic....

Hey man, it seems like we get the raw deal with delivery here in Germany. That said, I'm in a slightly better position but still nowhere near as good as other people. I ordered mine on February 18 and as of 0900 this morning it was at Herne-Boernig (not too far from Dortmund). UPS estimates it'll be delivered tomorrow so I hope it gets moving soon. I'm on the other side of Germany.

Did you order your iMac from the Apple Store or from a reseller? Good luck, either way. I hope you get it soon!

Mine has finally arrived. just about to unbox and setup. ordered mine on the 2nd March, arrived 19th. i7, 3TB Fusion, 680MX. Hope all your imac's arrive soon.

Not a chance you'll win that prize, sorry: check out the thread for the poor people who ordered with a reseller:

People there have been waiting since November!

I ordered Feb. 28 (I'm in Hungary). They told me it had shipped from Cork on the 16th. TNT told me yesterday that it would be delivered today - but I just called them, and now they say they have no record of it/me at all! Called Apple: they know nothing....

I hope I'M not in line for that prize...
