Ok, why don't we all start posting about things that we are going to do today:

I'm going to the bank soon.
After that, I'm stopping at AT&T to convert my three iPhone accounts into a family plan.

I am thinking of getting some anti glare films for my two 3GS phones.

I need to buy some groceries later and lots of sobe drinks since they are still on sale for $.88.

Wash cloths. clean bathroom. cut hair. hummm anything else?

Well, you have a couple of mentions of iPhones in there, so that makes that relevant.

See how that works?

I heard that the glass manufacturer for the iPhone 4 is only able to produce 3 glass panels per hour per machine. I also heard that lines have yet to slow down either meaning customer interests have yet to slow down. Please help the shortage and return it so someone else can enjoy your refurbished iPhone 4.

Is that the way you treat a long standing board member around these parts? It appears they have been a member since 2003? Maybe he or she has friends on the boards and wanted THEIR opinions? Not some douchey "return it" remark.

IMO what I have noticed in the short time on this board is that the people complaining about the complainers are far worse then the actually complainer. Not to mention rude and inconsiderate. Make sense? Who cares? Let them vent, make threads, whatever. If you don't want to read a thread that is obviously meant to be a type of thread you don't want to read then quess what? DONT READ IT! Kinda like "return it" huh? LOL!

I agree 1,000,000%!!!.... You see the topic of the thread right? If you don't like it then don't read it. .....For the OP, personally its always what fits you best. Me I love blackberry's no matter how much more advanced the iPhone is. I love my iPhone as well. For me if I ever get another phone it would be a berry. I don't like android OS or windows. For you it will be different. I would recommend a berry if anything other than an iPhone.

LOL! It's amazing how much time they actually waste trying to justify their douchey remarks to said "complainers".

For real, there is a thread called Canadian iPhone. I don't live in Canada and don't intend to. So guess what I don't do? I don't read the thread because I can tell from the title that it isn't something I would be interested in. It makes perfect sense to me. :D

I returned my iP4 and picked up an EVO. There are definitely pros and cons of switching from an iPhone, especially if you've used one since they came out.

The battery life, or lack thereof, is greatly exaggerated. If you owned a 1G or 3G iPhone, then the experience is very similar. I've made it through a full day with very heavy use and still had over 25% of battery left.

The two biggest cons for me with it right now are the lack of apps and the internet experience. The internet experience is good, but Safari just about nails it, so anything else is tough to compare.

Sprint offers a 30 day risk free trial - they'll refund the phone and the service costs if you decide not to keep it. For me, it is worth a shot before deciding whether to go back to a 3GS or not.

Yeah, I hear ya. I haven't looked at any other phone since I got the 1st iPhone. I am guessing the the internet and app experiences might be lacking on the other offerings. I have to weigh that versus actually being able to use my phone as a phone. I have to be willing to wait past my return deadline to see if software fixes the issues.

To everyone else, I truly didn't mean to open a can of worms with my original post. I was just looking for feedback.

You don't need to apologize. ;)

If I was not keeping my iPhone 4 (which I am) and I needed to stay on AT&T, I would look at the Samsung Captivate. It just came out this week and is getting great reviews.

Go for it, but guess what? When I see the thread title "things I did today" I will know that's something I'm not interested in and will skip that thread, unlike other people on this board who will go ahead and just start crapping on your daily log thread.

Thanks for the only useful post. ;)

Yeah, a flawed piece of hardware is a deal breaker. All the Apple fanatics seem to be willing to live with it and have this "just return it if you don't like it" attitude. I have no problem with a mod just locking this thread if it upsets people. I was merely stating my frustration and asking for opinions on alternatives.

Rotobadger - you bring up very valid points. I'm not sure I'll find anything feature-wise that will compare.

Glad I could help.

Relative to flawed hardware, you may well find Android OS to be flawed when compared to iOS. It all depends on what you feel you can live with. As Steve said, there is no perfect phone (yet).

The grass may seem greener on the other side but every phone comes with quirks and idiosyncrasies so thoroughly test the alternatives before you jump. If you have had an iPhone for a while then you may be so used to its many positive features but perhaps have forgotten that you cant take these for granted in other offerings.

The focus of late has been on a couple of shortcomings in the new iPhone which is affecting a few people, fortunately not me, and in this blaze of bad publicity it is quite easy to forget how good the device is.

I continually check out new tech and devices but since I bought a 1st gen iPhone however many years ago it is now I haven't found an alternative that comes close.

Maybe you can and will find something better but don't do it just because you think you should because the "meeja" told you to or because of a few moaning trolls on theses boards.

As my iP4 is quite simply the best iPhone I've owned (I've had them all) and because I'm not having any issues with reception, screen, proximity thingie or anything else I do find it hard to empathise with those posters who are having a less than stellar experience with it but do let us know what you choose and how it compares.

If your looking at verizon, try the incredible if you like android. To me the size of some of the other phones (evo, droid x) is just too big for a phone where as the incredible is just the rift size (roughly same size as the iPhone), or you could also check out the samsugn epic 4g, it's like the captivate but with a slide out keyboard and is 4g. If you don't want android try the pre plus on verizon, the hardware is a little old but comparable to the 3GS and webos is fantastic.

Personally, I'd like the moderators to set up a special sub-forum just for the moaners, complainers trolls etc where that they can enjoy themselves to their hearts content.

I'd also like to see a special sub-forum for all of you name callers that can't keep your mouths shut. ;):D

Exchange it or return it. It's your money so if you don't like the phone, get something else.

Note - What did you really expect at the press conference ?

100% spot on. I firmly believe there is an issue with iPhone 4. Given the situation, I believe Apple has handled everything quite well so far.

Apple is not forcing people to buy their products, and most certainly they are not holding a gun to anyone's head to keep them either.

Learn to deal with what you've got or return it without penalty and get something else.

I hadn't looked at any other phones prior to last week either, but went through 2 iP4's and they both had the same issues. If I hadn't sold my 3GS, I'd be back to that, but everyone seems to want $350/400 for them, so I figure it's worth trying an alternative risk free. I don't want to extend my contract by getting a refurb 3GS through AT&T either.

Trust me, I'm going through the same thing. I feel lost not having an iPhone since I've used one for the past 3 years. I didn't have the faintest idea of what Android was (other than name) up until last week. Of all the Android phones I looked at, the EVO seemed the best to me. The Droid X is ridiculous in size, and I'm not really a fan of Motorola phones anymore. The Captivate didn't seem that great either. I'm liking the EVO after a few days use. Plan on giving it at least a few weeks before deciding to keep it, or finding a cheaper 3GS on CL.

Well, I think it's time I took a look at Verizon and Sprint's offerings. Apple's press conference was a joke. I have to use a bumper on my phone in order to not have signal loss. I have to use my phone on speaker-phone in order to talk to anyone without my face hitting buttons. Bluetooth randomly shuts off. I'm not sure what it is about Apple, but any other product I would have returned on day 1. Anyone else pretty fed up and ready to bail on iPhone? What are the best alternatives? Droid X and HTC Incredible?

If you aren't happy then take it back. I would recommend the Droid X, Droid Incredible or the HTC EVO. Good luck.

You're fed up with the iPhone.. so you come visit an iPhone forum for advice. Nice logic, genius.

I'd get the Incredible if I went to Verizon, but they've been backordered for over 2 months. Samsung cut off their AMOLED screen supply since they needed to ramp up production for the Galaxy S phones. Right now the Incredible and Desire are being made with Sony SLCD screens.

You do realize this is a MAC forum and that it's possible he is an apple fan but no longer wants an iPhone and is looking for insight on what to get from other Mac and apple fans? I know tough to believe an apple fan looking at others phones.

Meh. I'm getting tired of my iPhone (I have the 3GS). I don't really see that much of a difference in upgrading to the iP4. I mean, all I'll really get is a better screen, a front facing camera, and a better camera? I'm good. I barely use the camera, and the better screen....I already think my 3GS has a good screen.

I definitely want the Nexus1, but that phone is getting old, and I don't see myself spending $550 on something that is being phased out/Not being sold by the manufacturer online anymore.
