Heres whats going to happen. The Great Oompa Loompa is going to throw a temper tantrum on twitter or x or truth or what ever the hell hes on and make a big stink about it like the immature baby that he is. Its going to get held up in court and hes going to make the excuse that he's only looking out for the country and he's the victim (he always is somehow) and then its going to eventually be revealed at some point that it was all part of a giant pump and dump market manipulation scheme to line his and his rich buddies pockets.

God willing he gets impeached and removed once thats proven, but it wont because at some point in the past we skewed into the worlds worst possible timeline where the worst possible idea and outcome always happens and somehow trump gets away with everything!

But you watch, sooner or later apple and everyone else is going to raise the prices and we are going to be stuck paying more for less!

I want to be optimistic about this i really do...BUT i dont think that reality exists anymore! But i'd love to be proven wrong!

I would pay $4k for a USA-made iPhone. Make Pros is America… I don’t even live there but would pay it over the current slave labor in China. And how would it cost $4k anyways… Robots do most of the work…

Well if he passes this, he won't have to listen to courts and judges ever again.

That bit will be reviewed by the Supreme Court in short order and I expect it to be nulled, 7-2. Congress doesn't have the right to override constitutional authority and division of power.

Congress has passed a number of laws giving the executive broad-ranging powers to implement tariffs. This will most likely end up in the Supreme Court before it’s all over.

That is one aspect so many miss. This will end up likely at SCOTUS like you mentioned and it is the Executive branch that holds the powers to it. The USIT has misjudged this one IMO. Too bad TC didn’t move some assembly to the US.

Not me...My max is $1200 for an iPhone. I don't care where it's made, or what features it has, that is my limit.

I can easily afford a $4000 phone, but there is nothing Apple offers, or could offer, that would make the iPhone worth anything near that.

If new iPhones were $4k, older iPhone resale value would surge. People would sell their older iPhones for more than they paid for them. Some would pay the difference for a new one, others would pocket the cash and downgrade to a cheaper phone.

I'd love to see Apple manufacture their products in the USA and I'd even pay the premium, but it might make me reconsider getting a new iPhone every year.

I think most sane people would agree with you. It still boggles my mind how many people out there will defend trump on this when they are the ones getting ripped off right along side the rest of us.

Heres a good example. I've been following the rumors of the Apple Vision Pro for years. I want one so bad. I love VR and if i could id buy 2 of them, one to keep in a box as a collectors item, one to use.

Heres the problem. They are currently 3500 dollars FOR THE ENTRY LEVEL MODEL. I dont make that much. Id have to save up every spare penny for over half a year to be able to afford one, let alone 2 (as a collectors item).

As badly as i want one, logic and reality are still a factor and there is no way shape or form at that current price it is worth it for most people, and thats a shame, cause i do believe the tech does have potential.

But unless your wealthy, the average person like me would be INSANE to buy one unless somehow some way you were using it to make money by developing for it or something like that.

Its a shame too because i do think the tech could be game changing but not at those prices.

If apple sold a phone at 4K no sane person would buy it and they would lose money. At the end of the day Apple is still a business and has to make money to survive, and the way it does that is by making products that are affordable to average everyday people.

You out price the average person, you put yourself out of business!

The real issue is that there has been over 100 years of tariff laws that make the issue much more complicated than is being reported. I’ve read quite a few laws that allow the current administration to issue tariffs as they’d like (no, I’m not going to cite them). It’s a complicated issue where the Supreme Court would have to determine that 100 year old laws are unconstitutional or congress would have to overturn those laws. It’s a bit of a mess.

It will force Apple to either switch to every other year release or justify the yearly release by adding more hardware and software features compared to the competition so iPhone users will remain iPhone users and those from the other side will switch to iPhone.

It's gonna be another statistic for Apple since it will make current iPhone owners hold on to their current iPhone for longer than before. The pre-owned/second hand iPhone will sell in higher numbers than the newly released one.

If you think the Democratic party is extreme left, then you are on the right, not the center. On the political spectrum, Republicans are currently far right and Democrats are Center Right to Center Left. The progressive wing is on the left (not far left). Normalizing what is happening on the far right through bothsidesism is why we are slipping from democracy into an authoritarian state.

Oh 100% it will end up at SCOTUS. But the Court of International Trade and the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit are composed of subject-matter experts and their decisions on these issues fare very well at the Supreme Court.
