iPod touch FedEx "Package Data"

Has anyone thought to call FedEx and ask if there was a package en route to your specific house?

If the tracking part is bunk. . .I would think they have a system that they can put your address in, and see if a package is supposed to be coming or not

maybe someone else knows the fedex 'system' better?

You can track by reference number, which is your phone number; that should show all packages en route to you. Here's the link : https://www.fedex.com/AltRefTracking?cntry_code=us

We don't have an account number, so you'll have to enter country and zip code too.
 
it IS messed up (ups tracking) bc it says on sep. 29th at 3 01 AM package data was transmitted to fed ex....um... ITS 547 AM ON THE 28th... am i missing somethign..

The fact that China is in a different time zone than you are..

also, if you have received the email from Apple that says your package has shipped...then you will receive ur package on the delivery date

Is this the same apple that lied to people saying their warehouse was under water because of the typhoon?

Mine's on the same plane as yours.. It got to the airport 25 min from here to be sorted at 7:17AM so hopefully we are getting them today!

No offense....but man I hope you are wrong because it only brings up the order that Apple claims has shipped and doesn't show anything indicating a different tracking number...I can't call FedEx and ask about my address because I'm having it delivered to a business and we get packages almost daily. I know I only have an hour or two to go before FedEx shows up for the day but I really want to know now.

it took fedex about 24 hours to get my info after it "shipped" from apple....its in indianapoils Indiana right now....hope it arrives today, i live in pensacola FL:D

There are two explanations:

1. Somehow the tracking numbers are screwed up and we'll receive our T-Pod's before they are updated on FedEx (I've had this happen with FedEx before).

2. Apple is full of bull

I think Apple is full of bull, my FedEx tracking just changed and now says that my iPod was shipped on the 28th...not the 25th anymore and that it is still in China. This is complete BS, I'm dialing apple right now.:mad:
 
I agree. My shipping stat changed recently to "In Transit" and Location: Shanghai. I think it's quite ridiculous that they send an email saying the item was shipped on September 25th when in fact it was probably just sitting in their warehouse until it was really shipped today. I have simply been disgusted with Apple with regards to how this whole iPod Touch release has gone. I think most of you know what I am referring to.

A small bright side was that Apple customer service offered me a $45 coupon to use at their store. I called FedEx and Apple yesterday. I explained to Apple in an upset but professional tone that I was angry with the early in-store release as well as this shipping fiasco. The representative offered the coupon but little else. In reality though, there's not much to get for $45 and I do not want to give Apple more money.

I encourage everyone with this problem to call and keep pushing the issue. It is complete bull that they told us the they were shipped when they weren't. I got my $10 waived + $50 back (I'll believe it when it shows on my checking account). I'm sure Apple can afford this and if they ''lose'' enough money maybe at the very least they'll revamp their shipping and pre-order protocols so people that order first receive first. Garbage, I'll never get an item personalized again, if I could return I would. I've seen them in stores and know people that ordered after me that got theirs, I've seen them so much that I'm not even excited anymore to get my own. :(
 
This whole thing is really weak. I mean first I thought I was getting my itouch by today, but after being stuck on "Package data transmitted to FedEx" since the 26th, now Fedex says it wont be here till October 4th. So lame. Why didn't apple realize they werent going to ship till the 28th and tell me on like, day 2 of the problem? Why did my status on FedEx change on the day I'm supposed to get my iPod. Talk about terrible customer service, I mean people make mistakes, but my hopes were up. What a terrible situation, and I ordered mine on the 12th.
 
If anyone is using a widget to check your status, actually go to the FedEx tracking site. My widget said "package data received" for nearly three days straight, and then I checked the website and it said it was delivered.

I still don't have mine though, stupid residence hall reception desk doesn't file packages until about 3. So, I have to wait until then.
 
Sadly all of our iPods were indeed in the corner of a warehouse. . .due to the 'storm' from an Apple rep.

But now it has updated, and I will have mine by Oct. 3rd.

This was my first Apple product. . .and most likely my last.

My order was one of the ones stuck on "Package data transferred"Sept 26.3:01am
Finally changed today to shipped from Shanghai, CN. Delivered by Oct. 3rd 12:00pm

Same here. I'm hoping it's all a big mistake and the fed ex truck will roll up anytime now. I know it's silly, but if you don't have hope then what is there?
 
you people complaining and whining are just so sad.
do you ever stop and take a look at yourself?

if it arrives in the first week of october, are you going to
shoot yourself? can you not take it? do you need it in
your hands immediately? never heard anybody whine
so much about a few days.

especially SINCE they said it would ship the 28th. for
those people who do not have packages en route already,
then they have a slightly legitimate reason to complain.
but if your's says it's already on it's way....... and it's
going to arrive on tuesday/wednesday..... that's STANDARD
for shipping.

go step outside for a day, and stop checking tracking numbers
every few minutes. you'll live.

Agreed...I've already decided that I'm not buying from itunes anymore, I'm just going to buy CDs so I can rip my own music and be free to choose the mp3 I want for my next purchase. We can't all be fanboys.
