I been with iPhone since the iPhone 4 but I am just kinda running into burn out with iOS. iPhone is very popular, everywhere you turn there is an iPhone user and I kinda want something different but I am to deep in apple. MacBook, iphone xs max, watch 4,Apple TV and AirPods that I just don't think I could ever really leave apple. my questions is how do I fall back in love with my iPhone. I am so tried of having the same phone as everyone around me. I am also very hurt from Apple with them raising the price my IPhone XS Max was $600 down payment I just feel that out rages to pay! I am a new dad and my life is going to have to change as I won’t be able to afford these product anymore as my baby comes first now

The ecosystem is kinda how they keep you with Apple. I think the best way to "rekindle" your love for iPhone would actually be to move on to Android. I did exactly that right before this year's announcement and it made me miss certain portions of iOS bit by bit. So now I'm back with iOS with an Android as a secondary phone.

Ya I was thinking about that the only sesondary phone I would like would be the Razer Phone and don’t really have the cash for that right now

Why does it matter what someone else is using? Never understood this.

You have a new XS Max. You shouldn't be worried about prices of future iPhones for at least a couple of years. If they are too expensive when you think you need a new phone, I'm sure you could find a more affordable alternative and it could be something that isn't seen "everywhere you turn". That would solve both of your complaints.

Eat finest of foods, drink finest of drinks this planet has to offer every day, and one day, they are gonna become boring and tasteless to you.

It happens, people get bored with stuff. As someone says, turn away from iPhone for some time, then return. And you will reignite the love for it again.

I feel you, OP, because I become bored quickly, generally.

The best way to fall BACK in love with your iPhone is to get an Android for a while.

Best of luck.
Be prepared for the possiblity you'll actually like Android though. Happened to me, I've been an iPhone user since version 1 was released. I now prefer to use my Android over my iPhone.

And Visa versa ;) Ive had to use iOS based devices a few times and each time I fall back in love with my Android device. I guess my point is to use what you like, one man's trash is another man's treasure :)

I sometimes get bored with Apple, so I have a secondary Android phone, that I bought on Swappa. I'm using it now, but I always go back to my XS. If I was to buy a Android phone now it would be the Note 9.

When I became a dad I stopped worrying about crap like this. Besides they just want to play with your toys and slobber all over them. Meaning you won’t really have much time for the toys anyways.

Yep, have a good friend who worshiped his iPhone, even admitted he waxed it often!

Any he got married, had a kid and he regularly gives his phone to his son to play with, just so he can have a few minutes of peace!

How our priorities change!!!

I'm using MacBook Pro, Apple Watch, iPhone because ecosystem just works perfect. But yeah question is do you want to switch something different. I'll be happy to switch to Google Pixel 3 XL, Thinkpad X1 Carbon and Fossil Smartwatch. But for the moment I'll stay with Apple products.

I was all Apple for awhile, but same as OP got bored of it. Yes iOS is stable and consistent but I'm finding Android to be a lot more fun. For example I wanted to be able to use Airplay on my Pixel 3XL and I searched the forums and looked everywhere and finally found an app that streams flawlessly to any Airplay speaker. The process was fun and it felt great to tinker around. I'm in the process of switching over to the Pixel book as my main laptop but I am still keeping my iMac as my desktop computer. Yes things aren't as beautiful and fluid on Android, but if you're willing to give up the seamlessness it's a lot more fun with Android. That being said Google is ahead of Apple in a lot of areas.

OP. It's just a phone.

Seriously, people treat their devices like monuments and the Apple ecosystem like it's some sort of prison they can never get out of.

We all make choices and if someone really wants to leave a company's products behind they can. The real problem is that you don't want to make the effort that leaving would require. You're comfortable, not trapped.

Go engage with your new kid for a while. Maybe you'll get a different perspective.

When I was younger I used to like to tinker with things. Jailbreaking my phone and setting it up exactly how I wanted it only to re-do it a week later. Then as I got older the thought of tinkering with things just didn't appeal anymore. Just want things to work as I expect/need them to. Everyone is different. It's good we have choices.

As for the OP. No need to love your phone as long as it is working properly and doing what you need it to do. The good thing about your phone and watch is that it will be perfectly usable for the foreseeable future. Theres no reason you cant get 4+ years from those devices.

For better or for worse, iPhones gave a lot of people like the OP good feelings over the past several years. Unfortunately those good feelings are going away.

This is why I'm not ditching iOS. I got out of my tinkering phase a while ago and now, I'd rather just spend my time reading, going on vacations or watching my accumulated video collection. I just want my devices to do what I want them to do and my iPad+iPhone combo has been a fairly seamless experience.
