Looks like the Iranian team is playing dirty in the 2nd half, knocking players.

Well, great result nonetheless, 6 - 2.

Looking forward to the next 2 matches

USMNT couldn't cope with Wales' tactical changes in the second half. 1-1 result feels fair, but slightly disappointing. Whoever of these two teams puts more goals past Iran will finish second in the group.

Have to say Netherlands looked pretty underwhelming in attack, which feels strange considering the rich goalscoring heritage they have. Ecuador have a legitimate chance to get out of Group A.

Hope the Iran keeper is ok. That was a nasty knock.

Congrats England. It was fun watching the old men (Kane and McGuire) passing to the young bucks for goals.

Do you think Saka would consider becoming a US citizen? If we could get this done by Friday, that would be nice. :)

Speaking of the USA, that was a frustrating second half and a very frustrating result.

Our MLS back (Zimmerman) sure got snookered by their MLS forward (Bale). Has Bale played anywhere other than MLS? Kinda looked like it. ;)

Pulisic with a productive night (great pass on Weah's wonderful goal), but the strategy for the corner kicks needs work. Very little productivity there.

Congrats CYMRU on the comeback. Love the bucket hats, by the way. Hope you tie Iran, too. :p

Saudi Arabia stunting against Argentina... 2-1 final score after no less than 14 minutes of extra time. I wasn't terribly impressed with Argentina, I don't think they have the squad to do well, too reliant on Messi and Di Maria up front.

Yes, I am still confused to what happened. 🧐
I think that Saudi Arabia scored more goals than Argentina.

😝

All joking aside, wild game. I hope that the player that passed out is ok, that was one nasty KO. Saudi’s goalie was incredible.

This game also shows why VAR is important for weaker, more defense prone teams.

I mean, three Argentina goals have been disallowed because they were offside.

Let the debate of offside needs to change or not commence.

I don’t see why it should change. Because Messi and friends can’t score to a weaker team? I find the rule as is a great strength equalizer.

Hey, someone deleted my post from last night where I predicted a Saudi win! :p

The team I follow most – out of all sports – is the U.S. Men's National Team, so I've been waiting for this for eight years. Monday's game was frustrating and disappointing, just like any USMNT game should be.

I am very much looking forward to Friday and the chance to redeem themselves while playing the familiar underdog role that has always seemed to bring out the best in the team. It is expected to be the most watched USMNT game ever – perfect day, perfect time, perfect opponent. And after the disappointing draw, they need a result.

Argentina's loss makes that group VERY interesting. Mexico and Poland and to expect that Argentina would win and be the class of the group. But when Saudi Arabia won – what a second goal, by the way – that changed everything. Instead of Mexico and Poland battling to be the second team through, suddenly the group is wide open. Either Argentina wins their next two and leaves the other three teams to fight for second, or Argentina never recovers and two of Mexico, Saudi Arabia, and Poland go through.

Argentina - Mexico will probably be a war.
