what i miss from 8+ :

bigger display with real colours
a lot better battery
a lot better keyboard
full status bar
better gestures (i actually loose 3x time to close apps on x)
better price
speed (for some reason 8+ on 11.2 seemed a lot faster than this x)
no mitch and vídeo shown with the right ratio

what i will miss from x :
better front camera

Sounds like a hasty decision just two days in. You cant measure battery life in two days while the phone is still indexing. Gestures and other UI issues take time to get used to for some people. You have a familiarity bias. Usually I try something for a 6months or a year before deciding if I like it. Thats how I knew the smaller size worked better for me when I went from a 6+ down to a 7.

...what?
  • The screen is very nearly the same size.
  • Color accuracy is not an issue on the superior OLED screen.
  • The battery in the 8+ is only slightly larger and is negated by the fact that the OLED screen on the X will use less power.
  • What are you actually missing from the status bar? Certainly not the "%" since that is available in the Control Center and as a widget.
  • Better gestures? You mention closing apps. Why are you closing apps and how often are you even doing this? It's actually faster to do so on the X, regardless.
  • You're judging the speed on a beta build.

Lol you already made up your mind with that many pros for the 8plus.

If you miss those things that much I’d switch back and try again next year when a bigger version of the X comes out...11plus is most likely in the cards.

  • The screen is very nearly the same size.
totally wrong, is too much stretched and making uncomfortable with two hands use

  • Color accuracy is not an issue on the superior OLED screen.
what is superior? i see more white as yellow and the only better colour is the full black... nothing more
  • The battery in the 8+ is only slightly larger and is negated by the fact that the OLED screen on the X will use less power.
have you had got the 8+? was lasting A LOT MORE, so, don’t try to tell something that doesn’t exist
  • What are you actually missing from the status bar? Certainly not the "%" since that is available in the Control Center and as a widget.
vpn, network name, battery percentage and of course, accessory battery life, rotation look, dnd mode...
but you seems a kid that don’t work like me with mobile so it is normal that you cannot understand nothing.

is not actually fast, because on x you have to wait to damn close signal.
and i’m closing app because there aren’t a lot of apps not optimised for x that are making troubles and getting stucked (one of this is spotify)
  • You're judging the speed on a beta build.
you still not able to understand that i’m comparing 11.2 on iphone 8+ with 11.2 on x, means both same beta.[/QUOTE]

Glad your happy, glad I’m happy, glad we can all be happy with our choices. Can I ask you a question, why did you feel it was necessary to share? Just wondering?

I just feel if I make a post saying I’m going to keep the X and the reasons why people will call me a snob and say that I think I’m better than you because I choose the X so I choose to not share my decision. Just wondering why you feel your post is necessary for us to see.

you still not able to understand that i’m comparing 11.2 on iphone 8+ with 11.2 on x, means both same beta.
  • "Too much stretched?" What does that even mean?
  • The OLED offers and HDR capable screen with far superior contrast ratios, better color accuracy and perfect black levels.
  • You're compared a phone that has been had some to come into its own, against a phone you only received at some point on Friday that only just begun to become optimized for it's best potential battery life.
  • Why do you need to see the network name? You should be fully aware of whether or not you have enabled a VPN. Your accessory battery life is listed right there in the widget. No need to rotation lock on the iPhone X. Once again, you should be fully aware if you have enable DND and it's also right there in the Control Center.
  • You can force close apps faster on the iPhone X, due to its gestures. I don't think you understand what "optimized" means in this scenario. The apps work in he same way on the iPhone X and the iPhone 8/8+. The only changes deal with taking advantage of the available screen real estate. Apps that have not been updated work just as well on both models, they just don't look as nice as they will on the X once updated.
  • The 11.2 beta for the X is not the same beta. It's a specific version of 11.2 for the iPhone X.

Yeah I definitely get that. But here’s the thing, there is already a thread with over 300 comments about the same topic do we really need multiple threads on the same thing. Couldn’t everyone post in one thread. If this was any other topic many people would be saying that there is already thread on this and you should post your comments there. But I guess since this post fits a certain agenda it’s alright than.

I’m returning my X. It’s the battery life.

I still have my 8+ and the difference in battery life between X and 8+ is night and day. I believe 3 days is more than enough time to get a gauge of how X is performing in terms of battery life. It’s not good at all for my usage.

Threads like these make me think you never actually purchased a X, but are posting a topic bashing it to make yourself feel better about purchasing an 8+. Please prove me wrong with a photo that shows both phones.

Care to elaborate? How long did the battery last and how were you using the phone?

Do you usually police all the duped threads out there or are just signaling this one out because it talks bad about the X?

How do ya know it’s hardware and not iOS specific to the new hardware that can be optimized and ironed out?

I think you should wait at least a week. You can't judge battery life in the first few days. Every device will have piss poor battery in the first couple of days. Because apps, updates and usage is heavy. But after a week battery tends to improve.

I'm having some grievances with my X as well. Especially with face id. It's becoming a pest. But I'm going to give myself at least a week before making a decision.

I have nothing to substantiate this either but I feel like the mAh cells need to break in too.

It’s not just the software settling in

It’s definitely possible but at this point I’m not as impressed with X as I’m with my 8+.
I can’t afford to take the risk by waiting and hoping that it’d be fixed in the future after spending $1200+

Fair enough.

I drew the line at 999 :p not a penny more than that and tax for me

With X, I got around 6-7 hours of usage time for web browsing, YouTube and other social media browsing. With 8+, I consistently got at least 10+ hrs for similar usage. With X, I could literally see the battery percentage going down 3-4% every 2 mins.
