For the first time today, I saw a station selling gas at $2.97 a gallon here in Denver Colorado. Lets hope the price keeps on dropping at least another dollar.
well its just that time of year when prices fall
it was under 3 last year at this time as well
however, the trend is always upward
I paid $3.81 / gallon for regular when I filled up earlier this week. Gas prices in NC are still artificially high almost a month after Hanna disrupted supply. They seem to have finally started dropping a bit these yesterday... Costco's down to $3.44 / gallon.
Have you checked the price of crude oil futures recently? It closed at about $77 / barrel today. If it looses $4 more it will cost half of what it did a few months ago.
yea i follow it everyday
here is a cool website for those interested

I hear that OPEC is convening "emergency sessions" to discuss this price drop because it suddenly means less money for them (boo hoo). They'll probably vote to cut production so that the price will increase again.
Bastards.
still 3.40 here in so cal.... :-(
I remember $.69 about ten years ago in some places. I'll take that.i would love i gas was 1.50/gallon again lol

Since moving to Chicago three months ago, gas prices are at there all time low here of $3.65. For the most part we have been solidly over $4/gal.

Here too, I filled up earlier this week at a Shell station and it was $3.49 for regular which was right on the dot the national average, while the bigger cities in the state had it for less than $3!
where in chicago is that? most stations i've seen are about $3.99
slightly cheaper in the northern burbs
