For the first time today, I saw a station selling gas at $2.97 a gallon here in Denver Colorado. Lets hope the price keeps on dropping at least another dollar.

While this is good, I heard this is somehow bad news eventually(?) anyway, $2.89 in Cincinnati, $2.79 with my Kroger Plus Card:D

I paid $3.81 / gallon for regular when I filled up earlier this week. Gas prices in NC are still artificially high almost a month after Hanna disrupted supply. They seem to have finally started dropping a bit yesterday... Costco's down to $3.44 / gallon.

Have you checked the price of crude oil futures recently? It closed at about $77 / barrel today. If it looses $4 more it will cost half of what it did a few months ago.

Since moving to Chicago three months ago, gas prices are at there all time low here of $3.65. For the most part we have been solidly over $4/gal.

I love that site! I mean, I love raleighgasprices.com, but it's pretty much the same thing. I wish they'd make an iphone version.

Edit: I attached a 3 month price graph for my local area.

My wife flies for the airlines - I'm hoping that these lower oil prices will allow her to keep her job. We'll see. :(

It isn't under $3 here yet. It's more like $3.40 in my neighborhood.

I hear that OPEC is convening "emergency sessions" to discuss this price drop because it suddenly means less money for them (boo hoo). They'll probably vote to cut production so that the price will increase again.

    Bastards.

Well, Oak Park, technically not Chicago but it does have Chicago on two sides and is in Cook County.
