I’m guessing you are looking at both side to side? Can you please do me a favor and zoom the letters so they are the same size, put them side by side?

One more test, open an iBook on both, change the letter size to be the same on both and tell me how it looks please?

See attached pictures. Sometimes you can get a little more text (1-2 lines) to show up on either phone depending on the webpage or ibook formatting.

Someone is insecure about their 8 plus..:)

I actually own both a iPhone 8 Plus and an iPhone X, and I'm not sure I want to depart with the 8 Plus as in some ways it's better than the X. (Screen size, battery life).

Too many are willing to blame some personal bias on any criticism of the X. I can easily afford both and am willing to give anything a go.

The fact remains that, the X won't be a complete replacement for the Plus, until the X Plus is out next year.

Thank you for doing that, and that has been my point all along. Pure preference. To me, Plus just reads better to me in its aspect ratio vs the way it reads on the X.

People who can't afford the X are insecure and attempting to justify an inferior phone with:
• a smaller battery (capacity and life, as proven by independent tests)
• smaller/lower-quality display (worse pixel density, lower contrast ratio, smaller size, past-gen LCD vs next-gen OLED tech)
• previous-generation biometric tech
• and antiquated design aesthetic (clunky, huge bezels, poor screen/frame ratio)
... as a better device.

It happens
[doublepost=1510469717][/doublepost]The only difference between the X and 8 plus is the design and face I.D.
Some don't mind the 4 yr old design. They have the same processor, ram and storage.
I am going to check out the X at the Apple Store, but I'm not going to buy it.

I think what tempts most about the iPhone X is Face ID and the smaller form factor. But the iPhone 8 is that one device that you know exactly what you're receiving, because Apple has Refined it over the course of four years, which has really matured nicely into what it is today. I think both iPhones are great, it's just a matter of what somebody truly wants from each model.

I was sort of excited about Face ID but it was a huge let down. It only works about 50% of the time for me.

Coming from a 7 Plus..

Just returned my X and picked up an iPhone 8 Plus-- couldn't be happier. When I first received my X, I had noticed I stopped using my phone as often, the novelty quickly wore off. I wasn't really enjoying it and for a phone that expensive you better love it!

The 8 Plus is really a great phone, I wish I had just gone with it in the first place, would have saved a lot of hassle, also loving the SIM Free model.

I wasn’t a big fan from the start primarily because of the angles to look directly at the phone to unlock. Like Touch ID though, it learns. So with TouchID as we position our finger differently on the device, it picks up larger portions of our fingerprints. I’ve read Face ID learns as well, so apparently up front as it fails and you input your pin, it learns the new shot it just picked up so as long is it is not much different than the original, then adds that to its database. So they say the longer you use it, the less likely to fail, that’s why it’s 1.0 iteration only allows for 1 Face vs 5 fingers on Touch ID.

I was not happy with the speed of FaceID. Numerous times it was still unlocking as I swiped up so I would have to swipe twice.

Well there is no lack of passion in these forums.

Both phones are great. Right now Apple is giving us the largest selection of phone, so pick your favorite.

Everyone knows the 8+ is the King right now, making the X the newbie Prince.

That's Crown Price iPhone X to you, Newtons Apple.

That. And also setting up the absurd price point of the X. The X should cost what the 8+ costs. The 8/8+ should cost what the 7/7+ cost. It's all about the cheddar for Timmy.

You don't want to see your favorite company become the world' first trillion dollar company?

I just exercised my IUP for my daughters phone to an 8 plus. So I have side by side X vs 8+. She’s happy but man what a beast. It’s like a brick next to my X and the screen quality is definitely not as good. I’m happy with my X and she is happy with her 8+. Although she wanted an X but I have to draw the line somewhere at 15. Banished to the 8+.

If your X is a beast, then so is the 8 plus.
I went into the Apple Store yesterday to check out the X. It does have a better screen than the 8, really nice.
Glad none are in stock, so I'm not tempted to buy one.

Ended up returning my x today.
Went back to my 7+

I couldn’t get past the aspect ratio, off axis color shifts, and no landscape mode.

I tried father. But I failed. Lol.

I’m doing the same this weekend. I couldn’t find anything on the X that I was more happy with. Everything was better on the 7 plus.

Are you 10, 11, 12 years old?
I love my iPhone 8 plus, I hope you enjoy your X, seriously. The freedom of choice!

I’m using my 7 plus right now though I did contact Apple to return my X. I am struggling with my 7 plus. I keep trying to swipe up to go home. I know I’ll get used to the home button again, but I must admit it feels kind of clunky and weird now. There are certain things I think I will miss about the X but Face ID drives me bonkers at night. I don’t like lifting my head up away from my pillow.

I had no problem switching back. Like riding a bike. lol

I’m struggling with my decision now. I’ve gotten used to the smaller keyboard and it is easier for my kid hands to use. Ughhh. Why is this such a hard decision? Face ID seems to be improving so perhaps it really does learn? Or maybe I’ve learned to automatically shift my position enough to unlock my phone without noticing. I’m not sure. I have both phones fully charged and laying side by side and I find myself reaching for my X over my 7 plus but I’m not sure if it’s because it’s the one connected to cellular network (which doesn’t matter right now because I’m at home on my WiFi) or if it’s because I actually prefer the X.

This is just going from 1 size device to another on the same OS just different gestures. I remember going from a Palm Treo to Blackberry. Then from there to Android. From Android, I move to the Palm Pre learning WebOS on a MUCH smaller screen. I had wanted so bad to get the new iPhone and had to wait until the 4 on Verizon to switch. Once again learning a whole new OS on a whole different device with all different buttons. Now we have some great choices with IOS and the size is the easiest to get used to once your brain retrains itself.
