I've tried so many! My all time favorite case is the speck candyshell. I've had them for each of my iPhone's since the 4. Glad speck made the traditional candyshell for the 6s plus!

Does this case scratch up easily

I wouldn't characterize the Evutec as slippery. Actually, I rather like the rubbery coating it has, as it strikes a nice balance between offering some grip, but not too much so that it becomes an issue when extracting it from pockets, or collecting detritus like dry silicone cases do. I've never handled a Play Proof, but to me, something like a Speck Candyshell and its hard plastic can be slippery, especially when wet. But I have had two of the Grip versions for both 5 and 6, which I like for their grip (especially for $10 from a discount dept. store).

My comment was really about the kevlar veneer layer not providing any benefit in this application, except for looks. The protection comes from the TPU layer, but ultimately, a case is still a thin plastic shell that can only do so much.

As I've said before, my only beef with the Karbon is the price. It falls outside my price sensitivity boundaries when there are more interesting looking choices for that kind of money. When not up close, it looks like any other piece of black plastic. YMMV.

Their new Kaleidoscope and Texture lines are priced more sanely, and I like the looks of the former. If they're similar to the Karbon, they should be good options.

It can be hard, but you can't keep agonizing over the perfect case; nothing prevents you from changing your mind, or getting more than one.
That's the truth. I've got 3 or 4 cases myself!

Yea I really am not a fan of the price. As much as I like the case I'm not sure if I could say it was worth the almost $50.

Hi, TheIntruder -

Your point is well-taken--thank you!

As I've said previously, I'll probably order several cases and retain one or two. At least, it's my intention. Indeed, shipping packages back is more of a challenge for me than it would be for you able-bodied folks. Too bad I can't enlist my cat for the work. ;)

Kind regards,
Brian

Hello!

I thought you all might like to know that I have ordered an unlocked iPhone 6S Plus 128GB, along with an ITG Silicate screen protector, GSM SIM card, and three cases.

Regarding cases, my initial choices were the Speck CandyShell Grip, Diztronic Voyeur Full Matte, and New Trent Trenti 6L. Note that my selections weren't definitive; I'll likely try others when I've finished evaluating the initial batch.

The "Plus" will be my first smartphone, per se. It should prove an interesting experience.

With thanks and kind regards,
Brian

Good luck, Brian! Hope you enjoy your new 6s Plus (which color did you get?) and cases. Be sure to report back with your findings!

Thanks so much, Kristin!

I got gray--er, I mean, "Space Gray."

I currently have the Evutec Karbon SI and Zagg Glass Luxe on my iPhone 6 Plus and have to say it's the best combination I have used, I have dropped my phone onto asphalt in this setup and the phone itself came out fine even the case came out with barely a mark!
This is the exact same setup I have on my 6s Plus. Great combination, indeed!
Gotta say I'm picky with cases also. I've had the UAG on my phone for a while and I liked it. Then I tried the Playproof and liked the thinness but didn't like the lack of grip. Now I'm on the Evutec and I really like it. Thinness of the Playproof with the same drop protection as the UAG (the standard 4ft).

Just my two cents! Figured I'd share since I know the struggle of finding the right case for your needs. I've been following the thread for a while now to see what you would end up with. Good luck!

For those using this case have you noticed much wear to the case after using it a while I know they say that coating makes it resistant to wear and scratches just wondered if it really was

I've only had the case about a month and it looks the same as when it was new. I've dropped it a couple times and don't have any scuffs to show for it.

... But it's only been a month.

I've had this case for 3 months and there are no scratches to the case, there has been a drop but there's a minor mark which can barely be seen unless you really look for it

I too have had the case for a few months now and it has been on my phone for as long. I have not dropped it but as far as markings of any kind, including those from fingerprints and natural oils on the hand, there is nothing visible to report. Anything that DOES appear either fades by itself or can be wiped off very easily and in order to even see marks to begin with, you would need to hold the phone in certain lighting. I place my phone only on surfaces such as desktops or tables and those don't really leave traces of much behind to begin with.

I will say that I am continuing to keep a watchful eye out for Evutec's Texture ST when it becomes ready for the 6 Plus/6s Plus versions. It looks to be equally as impressive as the Karbon SI, which I've already been enjoying.

I wish I could find a case that offers the same level of grip as the candyshell grip does but is in the style of day the spigen capsule.

I know there's a clip on case specifically made for grip my I want a case that offers fill protection with some lay on the table.

I've got 6 cases. The speck is my favourite because it offered proper grip but I do get tired of having a super thick case on my phone all the time.

I have a ton of cases for my phone. I see one that I like, buy it, keep it on for a couple weeks, find something that bothers me -- too thick, edges are uncomfortable, blocks ports, collects dust, too heavy... something -- then take it off and drop it in a drawer along with the others.

My favorite if I had to pick though would be the Apple leather cases (iPhone 6/6S). Light, thin, minimal lip, doesn't collect dust and doesn't block ports so I can still use my dock and any third-party lightning cables.

I've decided to just go phone-naked most of the time. This way I don't get annoyed by dust, seams, weight, thickness or any of a hundred other silly things that I'll obsess about. I have AppleCare+, so I'm covered (well, for the deductible price of a case, basically) if I drop and damage the phone. I do tend to use cases when on business trips, however, since my environment is different and I tend to be using the phone more frequently.

Just bought an Apple Smart Battery Case for an upcoming trip. Figured it would be easier to manage than carrying around an external battery and cable as a often due when away on business. It's quite nice, actually, for a case although it picks up dust and lint like crazy. Very much hoping that will diminish as the material wears a bit (probably not, though, right?).

Well, it seems as though the creative minds at Evolutive Labs have gone and done it again. I received an email that the "SolidSuit" is being produced (so long as there is adequate backing/funding) for the iPhone 6/s and 6/s Plus. There is more info on their website, but the case will come in two different materials for the picking (though under the same case name) and it looks similar to the design of the PlayProof cases. All of the protective features from previous cases remain BUT this time around I am thinking we may get more...wait for it...GRIP! :)

Check out their page for more details! I already pledged monetary support. I'm a sucker for cases LOL

Thanks for that info, I just signed up to back them for the new case, basically a leather version of the playproof sounds like. I really like my playproof and my crashguard, so a leather version can only be good!

Sure thing, and agreed! I am also interested in the texture of the carbon fiber version. I sent them a message and specifically asked them if it had a substantial grip or if it was slippery like the Playproof. I didn't find the Playproof terribly slippery myself but I know it's a relative term often associated with that case. Better to get as direct an answer right up front.

Dang you... More money spent.....

Hello, everyone -

I've been using my iPhone for several days, and today I switched from the New Trent Trenti 6L to the Diztronic Voyeur. I prefer the Voyeur, at least for now. The grip is better, the feel in my hand is more comfortable, and the buttons are easier to press. I dropped my Plus once when using the Trenti 6L; it seemed none the worse for wear. I haven't yet initiated the Voyeur, but I will. :)

I'm rather disappointed with the screen protector. I bought the ITG Silicate largely on the strength of Aaron Ho's review, but the Silicate doesn't strike me as being particularly fingerprint resistant. Indeed, the smudges are certainly evident on my phone. It didn't help that the installation probably wasn't up to par.

Kind regards,
Brian
