Good grief, now Samsung has a potential issue causing fires on planes; not absurd to think that couldn't lead to, I don't know, a plane crash resulting in loss of life? Where does this end? Samsung needs to kill this thing once and for all before they can even think about moving forward, this is flat out beyond scary now.

Well that says it all, you find humour in other people potentially tragic circumstances. What a particular unpleasant person you are. If it was a family member who was affected, would you still be laughing?
Ho ho ho, my dad's galaxy phone has just exploded in his pocket. Funniest thing I've heard all day!!! That Samsung eh!!! They need to sort their **** out!!! Is that how it plays out?
Haha you seem to be confused and are having trouble making the distinction between my laughing at an adversely affected individual, which would never happen and laughing at the company who can't seem to do their due diligence in R&D and are irresponsible with the safety of their customers. I'm glad I could clear that up for you. I'm actually a very pleasant person :D. It's tough to judge character through a keyboard and screen, but I'm here to clear these misconceptions up. I've been telling everyone I know, family, friends, strangers on the street, not to buy anything Samsung for many years so this acts as poetic justice. Even with all that advice and forewarning given, of course I would feel for the individual who was harmed by the incident. The company, however, doesn't earn compassion and you can bet that I won't be holding back in that regard. Are you starting to make the distinction now? Let me know if you need any more help.

I'm struggling to understand your obsession with an electronics firm from the other side of the world? That's all I got from the above..

As Samsung devices aren't the only ones having caught fire on planes, what this will likely lead to: a complete ban of devices with lithium ion batteries on airplanes.

Reading comprehension course for you perhaps? When the products of said company are potentially endangering lives of people, especially in the country where I live, they become more than just an "electronics firm from the other side of the world". They sell a lot of products in the USA. Their base location is if no consequence to my concerns of safety and quality.

Looks around......OK......who is the wise guy that lifted up the rock? You were all warned what would crawl out.

Or maybe.........this is a sarcastic joke.......after all did close by saying,

"Samsung is an honest company"......giggles........

He works for Samsung. I found the same comment posted in the comments section of other websites like the Verge under a different name.

Ohhhh...that's OK then. Comprehension dawns upon my brain.

Wonder how much they paying for those kind of postings? Could use the extra cash to buy my iPhone 7 Plus. Be a bit of poetic justice to have Samsung help pay for my Apple iPhone. :)

Make your mind up, you have been telling folk for years to avoid Samsung!! Now you say it's only because of events of the last few weeks.
Feel free to criticise my reading abilities if you so wish.
Have you ever considered putting your hatred for Samsung down and just maybe getting on with your life.

Are you kidding? Not a chance would I ever touch another Note 7 if the replacement exploded. The original phone, fine, they made a mistake. But not being able to fix the mistake with the 'safe' phone. I might stick with Samsung, but not touching another Note 7.
Honestly, if I had an iPhone 7 that exploded, I'd go get another one, even if the safe one messed up. I understand brand loyalty and trust, but if I like a product, I'll stick with it. I know a lot of people like that.

"Oh it's busted again? I'll have to go exchange it" Know what I mean?

Breaking is one thing. Exploding is an entirely different matter. That is a huge hazard to you, your family, your house and the public around you. If a phone that is deemed 'safe' explodes, I would never trust it again.

Once again, you're struggling to understand. I'll do my best to clarify. My mind is clearly made up. Samsung=trouble. I thought you would grasped that from my responses to you. Never did I say that my concerns are ONLY because of the events of the past few weeks. That was your false conclusion about what I said. I have always been concerned and dissatisfied with their products and company, from phones to fridges, etc. Now, with the recent events, I am even more concerned. My bringing up the most recent events was to address your question about why I care about a company on the other side of the world. They aren't so far away when the products are causing issues close to home. I think many would agree that it's worrisome that these products are having issues, regardless of where the manufacturer is based. Read many of the posts in this thread and that will be evident to you. If they only sold in South Korea, you would have a point, since they don't, your point is null and void. I am happily carrying on with my life and have been for many years and I still can maintain my thoughts and concerns about Samsung. It's called multitasking, and I'm pretty good at it I think. Hopefully you comprehend all I've said because my last resort would be drawing pictures for you but since I'm a terrible artist, I fear everyone would suffer.

While I have no lost for Samsung Mobile (thank you for screwing me over with my first Galaxy phone!), I hope they get to the bottom of this and figure out how to fix it before someone gets hurt.

Idk dude I'm not that uptight about that kind of thing. I get the safety concern but idk whatever. I'd replace it and keep using it.

I was flying this week, on every plane this was part of safety instructions: "If you have a Galaxy Note 7, TURN IT OFF, DO NOT CHARGE IT, if it starts to smoke contact a flight attendant immediately. Don't put in into 'checked in baggage'!"

So if you have a wife and kids, and you are charging your phone overnight and it explodes, causing your house to be engulfed in flames, you aren't uptight or all that worried? Really?
I'm going to say it again. No I'm not uptight about it. If it breaks/explodes I switch it out for a new one.

How I handle it shouldn't be too much of a concern of yours nor should it influence how you handle these situations, just like you're handling of it won't affect me. I have a ton of other things to worry about. If my phone exploded I'd probably yell holy ****, start laughing, tell my best friend "dude you wouldn't believe what happened!" and replace it. Life goes on.

Again, don't let what I do influence what you do.

Well life doesn't go on if your house is burned down with you in it.. But my point being you just seem to be equating broken or busted with exploding. Your phone dies, okay get a new one. Your phone blows up and causes 3rd degree burn and then accept another one that might do the same thing. But to each their own.
