That's where you would use CMD-+/- to scale.
This way you have two separate controls for separate functions. Before you only had scale.
Using pinch to zoom instead of scale seems more consistent with use in other apps.
I don't really like pinch zoom behavior in anything outside of pictures in macOS. I rather it act like ctrl +/- or ctrl (mouse scroll wheel). To me that's proper zoom in/out behavior.

They could just make it a preference setting in Firefox. I haven't found the about:config setting to tweak yet.

People are so goddamn negative on here sometimes lol. Firefox looked outdated as hell — it’s really not that big of a deal that they refreshed the design. Welcome to… software. I like it!

I’m a Safari user at home, but the Multi-Account Containers save me so much time at work, where I’m switching back and forth between 4-5 Google accounts (and my personal accounts) all day for various tasks.

This. I fully switched over to Safari a few years back, but then Apple killed/locked down extensions. I tried out all the options and finally settled on Edge, but I often rotate over to Firefox to see if it's good enough to use full time. It's hasn't been yet, but fingers crossed it gets there. I do really like it overall.

I bought Wipr on the App Store, and while it isn’t free like Ublock, it blocks just as well. Made Safari switch back-able for me :)

I MUCH APPRECIATE THIS REDESIGN. IT WAS VERY MARJORLY CONTRIBUTING TO THAT I DID NOT USE FIREFOX REGUALRLY THAT THE GRAPHICS IT PRODUCED WERE DISPLEASING TO ME. ESPOECIALLY, I HATED the custom context menu whose purpose was obviously to be similar to macOS’sUNFORTUNATELY THAT OURPOSE WASN’T STISFIED.

additional changes to make:
1. DON‘T SHOW A LIGHT MACOS WINDOW AFTER EVERY DOWNLOAD, especially in dark mode
2. DON’T SHOW LIGHT MACOS WINDOWS AT ALL WHILE DARK MODE IS ENABLED.
3. DON’T REACT TO SCROLLING GESTURES DIFFERENTLY TO EVERY OTHER MAC APP.
Your butterfly keyboard shift key seems to be broken.

I'd use Firefox as my default browser everywhere, but for the fact that you can't have adblock on Firefox on iOS. If I were to use Firefox Focus, then I wouldn't have my bookmarks nor history.

People should really consider switching to FF from Chrome. If anything to lessen the grip of Google and keep more options alive. There is also Brave, which is fine, but Brave is based on Chrome/Chromium and the Blink engine. So basically we kind of need Chrome/Chromium to continue to have Brave.

FF user base have been diminishing, if you don't have exact special needs that is only served with Chrome, I highly suggest switching over to FF. If you are entangled in the Google ecosystem, stay on Chrome.

Thats because Apple will not allow it. Brave has built in adblocker.

Tabs look awful. How on earth do you grab the window if the tabs stretch right across?

They don't stretch right across. In fact, they seem functionally identical to the previous tabs to me. You have the same amount of space to grab the window as you did in previous versions. It's really just a superficial re-theme to give them a more streamlined look.

I’m a little disappointing with iOS version looks kind old no new FF start page and the look really doesn’t change a lot (waiting for new iOS FF beta), it really needs an in built ad blocker and handoff between iOS and Mac.

I’m going to try iCab Mobile for a while, because it can be your default browser on iOS and it has Adblock and it supports Firefox Sync.

I personally like the refined design on both macOS and iPadOS. A lot of people here seem to be upset that it’s taking cues from Big Sur, but personally I would rather all of my applications try and adhere to the system’s design even if it’s not a design I particularly like.

Consistency is key to me and Firefox seems slightly more like a Mac app now.

Became a bit irrelevant now that the war on cookies has been "won". [*]

[*] In reality, websites are just moving to different methods of tracking.
I meant to say the "Protections Dashboard", which shows more than just cookies.

For those who don't like the new design (like me),

1) in the Address bar field, type about:config
2) click on Accept the Risk and Continue
3) type browser.proton.enabled into the "Search preference name" field
4) Change setting to False

or if you don't care about fancy new features and just want stability, stick to the Extended Support Release (ESR) version

The tabs are spaced a bit different - I can't really tell what else is different. Why is the home button still a thing in browsers - has anyone used it in the 15+ years since the Search Box was added to browsers (and then merged with the address box)?
