When a product isn't broke -- don't fix it!

::EDIT:: I should have tried it before I complained. Now using it. Happily, nothing much changed for me; everything is where it should be.
Looks REALLY clean - will update tomorrow (Win10 v1909) then on iPadOS.

Tabs look awful. How on earth do you grab the window if the tabs stretch right across?
From the looks of it, grab the TOP, not across ;)

i hate Firefox because I only use it in Private Mode. And each time, I close the App in Private Mode, and relaunch it later, it has returned to Public Mode.
So just a backup for Safari.

Looks like another update to avoid at all costs.
...floating tabs that contain information and other cues when you need them, ...
Looks like another update to AVOID. It's the "when you need them" that gives it away. The same way Tim Cook boasted about the iOS interface that "just gets out of your way". Problem is, I NEED the interface! I don't want disappearing controls! I don't want to swipe up or down or tap or long press or throw a pinch of salt over my shoulder just to get a "back" button or anything else. Put all the controls there for me!

How to set Firefox to always use Private Browsing

Trying it out on Mac. The tab is different, but really pulls your eye to the current tab, so seems okay. I think can learn to like this - Firefox is my daily driver across multiple platforms and hardware vendors.

Ah, could right click and remove the pocket thing in the end of the toolbar, nice. You can still have your own search bar on the end, nice. Everything else seems pretty stable. Okay I'm happy.

Absolutely hate they went full Chrome for the navigation button area. They've always had a round button. Was someone who used to wear a skin on the buttons back when Firefox supported that, depressing where they went there. But whatever.

I can be picky, and remember a similar reaction (dread) to Austrailis, but to me, it didn't turn out to be as bad as feared, and I'm finding the same thing with Photon.

I don't mind the new tabs as much as many, if not most people do.

My main gripe would be the general reduction of contrast, but that can be addressed.

One area where that was acute was the between the active and inactive tabs, and the overall mass of whiteness at the top of the window, especially in juxtaposition to the Mac's window title bar, if the user still chooses to display it. I do.

A quick tweak of the tab bar background color brought relief; I think I might actually prefer the new tabs after the mod. More time will allow other areas to be addressed, like the URL field.

The new notification dialogs are a helluva lot better than the clunky square-buttoned ones before.

Fortunately, that's still possible with a few CSS tricks, and what makes Firefox unique.

(BTW, anyone know the hex color for the Mac's standard window title bar?)

So glad that I use TreeStyleTab and hide the native ones. Why on earth would the active tab be a disconnected floating box?

p.s. I'm going to have a seizure from that video. Nothing is on screen long enough to really see.

I like it in Windows, i've switched the default back to Firefox from Edge on my work PC, Edge was starting to annoy me anyway. Not 100% sold on it on a Mac yet...

The tabs are spaced a bit different - I can't really tell what else is different. Why is the home button still a thing in browsers - has anyone used it in the 15+ years since the Search Box was added to browsers (and then merged with the address box)?
Right-Click on the Home icon and choose "Remove from toolbar".

heads up, I tried a theme called Edge it makes the browser tab bar easier to distinguish selected tabs. Also enabling compact mode makes it look less bloat-y

I’m a little disappointing with iOS version looks kind old no new FF start page and the look really doesn’t change a lot (waiting for new iOS FF beta), it really needs an in built ad blocker and handoff between iOS and Mac.

Thats not going to happen because FireFox/Mozilla has the philosophy that they are a browser not an adblocker. They also believe that people have the right to display ads as this is near the main way people/businesses make money.

You can try Brave that has built in adblocker, on Android I believe you can install uBlock Origin on FireFox.

I’m going to try iCab Mobile for a while, because it can be your default browser on iOS and it has Adblock and it supports Firefox Sync.

I am surprised you know about iCab. Its very versatilel and can do many tricks. Its like FireFox desktop but for iOS. Its very underrated .

Careful now, you'll shatter the illusion that all iOS browsers "are Safari" because they employ WebKit, and confuse the folks who don't know of, or refuse to comprehend the distinction between a rendering engine and a browser.
