It's not turn-by-turn GPS.

The agreement for the new iPhone FW SDK says that real-time routing applications are not allowed. The document itself isn't (I don't think) covered by NDA.

There is no Firewire hardware in the iPhone 3G. Get over it. It's not possible to power the iPhone 3G with Firewire anymore.

I'll probably get suspended for this one but F-it:

Well excuse me almighty know it all I didn't know that you were the end all expert apple engineer in charge on the subject...

Steve made no mention of a "secret feature" with the iPhone 2.1 update announcement. He said "performance enhancements." So, don't expect any new features, just bug fixes.

But it would sure be nice if Apple threw in copy/cut and paste for 2.1, that would appease some of the masses.

Well you don't have to be an Apple expert to read that they took out the Firewire components because it cuts the cost and you can't sync over Firewire anyway. They've been telling 3rd party manufacturers for a while to stop using Firewire and some listened while others continued to use it. It's not Apple's fault.... it's the 3rd party manufacturers fault.

Maybe the secret features were the features on the iTouch 2.1 sans Nike. Shake to shuffle, Genius bar, etc ...???

Anyone ever thought of that? I'm still hoping that PUSH will make its way into this release, but since it isn't in 2.1 for the iTouch, I don't expect it. But those are the secret features. I don't think they were in the developer builds, were they?

+1 for shake to shuffle that's a pretty cool feature I'd love to have.

Please Read!!!

I am a professional in these types of matters i went to school for four years and majored in BS there are three key BS indicators here #1 look at the past. Apple has had a whole year to improve the ihone and give us all the features we want and yet they havnt do u think they will after a few months?? #2 if it smells like BS and looks like BS its most likely BS. I dont think anyone even truely believes there will be any drastic changes where just hoping and lastly #3 one word HYPE!!! the ipone is a great phone with flaws and all i love mine but apple marketed the phone of the hype factor. there building all this hype of a secret feature and will give us horizantel typing in txt lol In closing im eager just like everyone else to find out what they have in store for us even tho i doubt it will be much and thats the sad part:(

The NDA also says no plug-ins and programs running in the background. Last I checked, Apple broke all of that for their applications...but it doesn't matter, cause they use a different SDK anyway...

Also, Mac Rumors article linked to an article who's source says that Apple told them that programs like TeleNav aren't prohibited and that they cannot wait for developers to amaze them.

Well, according to front page Mac Rumors, if the iPod touch uses a bluetooth chip for Nike+, then maybe the iPhone can too! :) Hmm, I wonder if Apple also decided in that case to throw in stereo bluetooth! oh snap!
