same as sammy so what does that tell ypuVirtual Home button is determined by software, just because Samsung is making the OLED panels doesn't mean that Samsung gets to decide where the home button sits.

well it definitely looks ugly, the upper cut really apple you are not like this
why don`t you approach like this concept image, it could really save your day, just my thinking
I agree, I too have thought all along that you cannot reasonably release a 7 edition of something, and the next series at the same time. Doesn't really make any sense. But Apple has made some questionable choices lately IMO so I wasn't putting it past them...iPhone Pro probably makes more sense. Maybe that will be the only model to ever have an OLED screen? They can keep the iPhone 8 sizes and always have this iPhone pro or something as well. Maybe they want more diversity yet again? I don't know if that makes sense either. But if the 8 copies this design for whatever they're releasing next year, that also doesn't make sense because then you'd have three models all looking the same.
Sure does, but that's how it is. 5.8" display, but only 5.15" or something will be screen real estate. The rest is the touch area below including the virtual home button.
Idk about the energy required to power that area, like I said I'm assuming it will always be on, but it's possible it won't be. I just can't see them completely doing away with it, especially since they're rumored to include the virtual home button. My guess is it'll be very difficult to get used to if they just ditch the button altogether. They likely will keep an always on vertical home button. Just my assumption though.
You force touch the bottom area, just like how it works on the Galaxy S8.

That a homebutton is always on the same place, it is a bit awkward to place it on the left top if the phone, isn' t it?same as sammy so what does that tell ypu
you're saying it's a 5.15" screen with a fixed bottom? isn't that just a home button that's stretched to left and right sides?
that sucks. i hate the on screen home button.
That's not good enough. Symmetry all round please. But it is symmetrical, across the Y-axis.
same as sammy so what does that tell ypu
from a design standpoint that thing looks ugly as hell, the front is asymmetric which is totally unapple like and the back looks like its Chinese knockoff of the iPhone 7. I waited 4 years for this and now it looks like ill be looking to what google brings with its next pixel phone.
That's possible -- but it's also plausible that Apple could use the pinch-several-fingers method, which is already available as an alternate method to get to the home screen on iPads.Virtual button on the bottom of the screen similar to the galaxy s8
Yeah, so the entire face will be one piece of glass/display, but the bottom part will be software limited to only have (likely) a constant home button there. This would be used to go home if it's always present. It wouldn't be stretched like you said, it may be a stand alone button in the middle, or maybe they'll have a back, or quick buttons for recent apps to the left and right of it or something. Check out the video below, look at 0:29-0:39. That's what we're expecting, except I think it would be sectioned off, whereas here it doesn't have any break (software) to show one area vs. another.
if it's a button that's ALWAYS there, then why make it an on screen button? for aesthetics? not only do you use more power to power something that's always there, but you also lose the tactile feel of the home button. the only logical reason would be to add dynamic buttons to the left and right of the home button.
if it's not always there, then how do you make it appear in those situations? the home button needs to be reliable and always quick to access when you most need it. making it disappear while doing landscape or fullscreen apps/games seems like it'll be annoying to get back home.
samsung is making 70 percent of the phone
Front camera and earpiece cutout from display looks ugly, seems more likely fakeno way apple will make that ugly spot.
