Every time I look at this watch I think of this kart in MK8D. Unfortunately it's not a good thing.

It reminds me of the Woz watch in the film "Steve Jobs" with Michael Fassbender in the titular role. We will never know if the real Steve Jobs would have greenlit this behemoth.

I just received mine in Brisbane, Australia. It looks fantastic and in my opinion, the best looking Apple Watch and the size I have been hoping for ever since the first Apple Watch. I tried the Nomad Titanium watch band and it looks better than it did on my previous AW7 Edition Titanium.
indeed it is a perfect addition - however I feel the lugs do not fit 100%, but good enough ...

I lost mine in April so it has felt like an eternity without them, forced to use my Max everywhere…

Finally tomorrow my favorite kind of AirPods will be back in my pocket where they belong!!
Yikes, I went through something similar. So happy I’m back in the APP game. I’m going to stroll around the city to test the new noise cancellation of the H2 and whilst doing that I’ll buy myself a nice fat cigar to celebrate! Cheers mate!

what are everyones thoughts on wearing the ultra with a suit or business clothes?
As long as you have a nice band, it will look absolutely fine. Everyone will have their own opinion but I think it looks a lot nicer and of a higher quality than my AW7 Edition Titanium. To me, the raised titanium bezel providing a contrasting border to the screen makes a huge difference. I was worried the orange button would bring the look down or stand out too much, however the position of it and the colour doesn’t make it look out of place. Under lights, the button almost takes on a gold hue.

Enough with the "ultra" products already, it's getting ridiculous. However, I guess Tim Cook is willing to do anything to justify those Apple's continually rising prices, and hunger for ever increasing margins.
There are only 2 products with the name "Ultra" in Apple's product line and one is a SoC and not technically a product anyway. And his number one job is increasing margins, so he'd be a bad CEO if he didn't focus on that.

These days it is fully acceptable to wear a Rolex sports model (or a Patek Nautilus) to a suit.
A Panerai Luminor is much more rugged than an Ultra - and people wear this to suits as well,
I don't talk about abominations like Hublot etc.

So I think the Ultra is fully acceptable.

With a nice leather strap e.g. one from Bandwerk (my tip is the current limited edition) -

or the titanium strap from Nomad that is fully ok.

Was worried it would look too huge. But it looks awesome.

Delivered in Sydney Australia.

First impressions:
  • The watch is not as big as I expected. The case is bigger and thicker but it doesn’t feel heavier on the wrist compared to the S7 stainless steel.
  • For reference, my wrist size is 155mm and I wear a Size 5 solo loop. The two alpine loops I have are both size small.
  • The flat screen looks and feels amazing to swipe on and it’s a clear differentiator from the standard series.
More pics and discussions over here.

Hmm sorry gents but these look comically large on your small wrists.

I think the watch looks fine on any wrist, again personal preference. I remember with the 42mm/45mm etc, people were like those are too big for small wrists, it looks like you have an iPad on your wrist etc but now no one seems to care. I take it the ultra size will eventually be looked at the same way.

Cheers, here’s to hoping I can score one tomorrow for in store pickup like I did my phone!
Well my hops are shot, have to wait until mid OCT for the blue/Grey trail loop one. To me it looks better than black one which is end of October. Until then I’ll live vicariously through everyone else.
