In the defense of apple they probably weren't expecting that many orders.

my order was confirmed at 3:09am for my 42mm leather loop and it has yet to ship. The excitement of waiting for it to come has quickly turned to being disappointing. I'm still really excited and can't wait for it to get here. I'm curious if they knew that this was going to happen a week or 2 before official launch.

I did call Apple today and it seems like most people's should be shipping tomorrow. The person on the phone with Apple seems to think all of the Leather Loop ones are going to make it for the estimated delivery of May 13th and told me a charge should be going through tonight or tomorrow.

My 42 SS link bracelet watch is being delivered tomorrow. My card was charged around lunchtime today and the shipping info followed a couple of hours later. My order confirmation came through around 12:06am Pacific on 4/10 based upon my receipt. It was promised between 5/13 and 5/27, so Apple was honest about the delivery window at the time of ordering and actually beat it by a day. I'd have liked it sooner, sure, but they gave me an accurate estimate and got it out a little sooner.

Do you want to know how and when I realized that the Apple Watch is probably not for me?

I didn't even have to read any articles. I just now saw the headline on the article page, and...well, let's put it this way...

Headline: "Apple Watch With Link Bracelets Begin Shipping to Customers"
Banner ad above that:
"Grainger: For the Ones Who Get it Done"

And at that moment, I realized that I am more Grainger and less Apple Watch.

It's all so clear now. :)

And...I'm still waiting for a new 17" 8-core rMBP. Come on Apple, "get it done!"

This is coming from the guy who still believes in the 17" laptop.

42mm Space Gray Sport Ordered 12:04AM April 10th.. Still Processing.

I've seen dozens of other users who ordered the same model later then I did who already received theirs. At this point I'm so annoyed at Apple for how they have handled this launch that I'm considering canceling the order out of spite.

The fact that the link bracelet is only now starting to ship, adds to my theory that the Apple Watch was rushed.

My theory: Apple intended to announce the Watch mid '15 and ship late '15, but they decided to bring the timeline forward and announce early, partly due to the relative success of Android Wear, Pebble etc.

  • At the 2014 announcement, the demo Watches were prototypes.
  • The march '15 event gave use more information, but it was still a month before we could prerecord. Keep people interested.
  • April 10th preorder and the first time the general public have the opportunity to see it in person.
  • April 24th some people can actually get the product.
  • Only now are people actually getting the product.

All of this to keep people interested while the engineers finished the software and initial production be begin.

We are coming upon the first anniversary of the announcement of the Apple Watch.

I ordered mine on the morning of April 10th - SS 42mm w/ black sport band. Got a estimated delivery window of May 13-27. It is now the evening of May 11th and still not a peep from Apple. First world problem, I know, but I really did expect to hear something by now.

No worries buddy, you still have a few days left to hear from Apple. Me on the other hand, i am expecting a shipment in "June". When in June? That is a good question.

I really wish they would just answer why the separate bands got sent out first...

What is to answer? They were ready sooner...

I ordered a watch, a few bands, and a second charger.

The charger shipped before any watches did.

Just a few days ago, I got my bands.

When the watch is ready, it will come too...

I love Apple to death but this has to be their worse new product launch ever. I wonder if things would have still played out the way they have if Jobs were still alive?

How easily people forget about the white iPhone.

i agree, here we are waiting and waiting and apple is shipping out the links

i ordered my watch silver link 42 april 11 and its still stuck in processing hell for june.

i am really hoping that it arrives this month tired of waiting

Well, now We know why you are facing a trouble with your order. You have ordered in non existent date;)

I don't personally need an answer, but I think it's off to honour accessories orders before actual watch orders. I think that's legitimately confusing.

Canceled my watch order today. Thirty days is enough time to wait without even getting some kind of notif. I was still in process mode. Maybe will look at them again after they become mainstream and available.

42 SG Sport shipped today, arrives tomorrow. Honestly though, I'm getting to the point that I don't really care. It doesn't feel special anymore. No one really gives a crap about it. It would have been different if the watch could have been in everyone's hands day one. I personally think Apple really messed up by offering so many options, it overwhelmed their production methods. Should have offered like 3 different models and that's it, let the accessory makers worry about watch bands.

When you ordered the Apple watch, before you hit the purchase button, it clearly displayed the estimated ship dates. So, you clearly knew when to expect it. As long as Apple deliver during this window they have held up their end of the bargain. If you expected it to be delivered way before these dates then you only have yourselves to blame for any frustration caused.

I think Apple may have learned that they messed up on this one. They should have pushed the pre-order and release back another 2-3 weeks to have more watches that could ship and deliver on the first day and within the first couple weeks. Yes the whole supply/demand thing applies to this situation, but I think the demand is so far outpacing the supply right now that it may actually hurt sales for people that want it now or even within the next couple weeks and simply can't get it. Not only does it allow more time for a consumer to talk themselves out of a purchase, but knowing you will be waiting 2 months to get your watch will make many less likely to place the order.

I feel the same way, ordered 42mm SG last 4/11

Considering Tim Cook would (still) have been handling the logistics, I'm inclined to say yes.

My Apple Watch with Milanese Loop ordered on 5/1 still says "July"...

Dude u ordered ur 11 days ago theirs people who ordered since the 10 and didn't see any sign of movement on their order status so jus **** and stop complaining

my 42mm SG black sport band has finally shipped! I ordered at 12:08 AM and had may 13-27 shipping estimate. Looks like it's arriving tomorrow. I guess I don't have to refresh the order status 10 times a day anymore. best of luck to those of you still waiting. the struggle is real.

I have oder my AW leather loops model, and the expect delivery date is 5/12, but great, i'm still waiting and not getting any further information for what the hell am i waiting for

I think you'll find your delivery window is May 12th-May 26th.

Your expected delivery date is not, and never was, May 12th.

Seems like lots of people might still be waiting for their Apple Watch by the time the next generation is announced and released! :D

Seriously though, I wonder if Apple are planning a yearly upgrade for this device. Lots of you won't have had your watches even a year because of the delivery delays.

The Apple Watch is only available in 8 countries (out of 200) and they are still struggling to respond to the demand. I live in Spain and we dont have even a release date scheduled, so yes, if you cant get your hands on the device during the first three month, you better wait for the next generation. If I cant get it before July, my Rolex will keep shining on my wrist a few months more.

For those complaining about the dreaded Jun delivery date, that's cute. Some of us are still stuck in the dreaded 2015 date  Every day pass has made me question my decision to get one (Don't worry I will still do :D)
