Again, they can update regularly and get gripes at for leaving customers with legacy products. Or, they can not make changes and get griped at for not updating.

I swear these are Windows/PC fanbois who just complain about anything Apple does.

It’s a nice update. I want one.

We are not Windows/PC fanbois. We are actually longtime Apple users that are tired of the Apple way overpriced non-innovation products.

WHo wants a machine that is disposable since everything is soldered into the Logic board and both RAM and internal SSD are NOT upgradable?

Apparently not you, so move along to the machine that fits your desires. There’s plenty out there.

My PC cost £2000 (i9 9990k & 980ti) and the OpenCL score was over 120,000 ;)

are you here just to ego-stroke your own e-peen? did you lose out your e-peen scores on pc forums to people with TR2900s and 9900ks and RTX2080TIs so you decided to flash out your junk here?

Indeed - these are the reasons why Apple seems to lose more and more of its marketshare. Coz buyers are fed up with products crippled (and ridiculously overpriced beyond reason) for one single cause: Greed

Great products otherwise, just held back by Apple management's moronic decisions

I bought the one that came out earlier this year maxed out (on day one of launch). Is there anything I can say or do to get apple to change it to the one with Vega 20 Pro (obviously I’d be happy to pay the price difference). I’m pretty pissed that I could’ve paid a little more and gotten a way better graphics card.
Do you expect apple to replace your iPhone X with an Xs because you bought the X a month before Xs release?

Gotta know what youre buying and commit to it;)

The Nvidia Titan cards are meant for deep learning, not gaming, but they've always been faster in games than the Geforce cards, until Nvidia relases the Ti flagships for one third, or half the price.

Workstation cards are not designed for gaming but that doesn’t mean that they don’t perform really well with games. Now, historically some workstation cards have had mediocre gaming benchmarks but that was more common over a decade ago.

Don’t get so defensive. I was merely stating a point #getoveritfanboy

Why bother with the OpenCL benchmark? Isn't the Metal benchmark all that matters now that Apple has deprecated OpenCL along with leaving it outdated and otherwise waging war against it?

Well that's not in a laptop. I'm sure there exist non-Apple laptops that top the score with a lower price tag, but there's no point in comparing your desktop to this.

Everyone who buys the MacBook Pro does. And I can't think of a time I've needed (or wanted) to mess with the internals of my _laptop_.

There are lots of people like myself who don't buy a mac for gaming and are not gamers. But sometimes on a Sunday we like to throw down some Warhammer or Starcraft. It's nice to have that as a possibility. We could build or buy a whole other computer for our Sunday gaming, but maybe it's not worth that much to us.
Is a new MBP not capable of playing those games? I play games on my Mac and never have such problems. Sure there are probably games I can't play, but I haven't encountered them, nor have most people (if you look at the top-played games out there).

I wouldn't expect the RAM or the CPU to affect the OpenCL score.

But that touch bar! Ahhhhhhhh, i can't get over the touch bar! I just hate it. Sorry : /
And the ****ty keyboard. I've been using that garbage for 1.5 months now, and my typing speed is still half because the keys are spaced seemingly with the intention of causing multiple to be pressed at once by mistake. 0/10 would not recommend the new MBP, which is why I bought the 2015 one for personal use a couple of years ago.

I will agree with you on the keyboard though. I don’t care if they fixed the reliability issue it’s still terrible. The spacing is the biggest issue.

Impressive!!! It even beats the razer one with the 1070 maxQ. And we are talking about performance in real apps, not some benchmarks...

PREMIERE PRO DOESN'T USE GPU ON EXPORT

All of these 'reviews' using Premiere Pro are complete bollocks.

Dave2D is a very trusted source and very reliable source for anything Apple related and the new video he just posted makes me sold on this machine.
Again, PP doesn't use GPU to export. THAT is why it's not mentioned on Apple website.

Then his temperature reading is totally useless. He's checking the chassis temp (??? not even the exhaust vent???); not showing CPU/GPU utilisation graphs; not showing CPU/GPU temps; and making the false assumption that the GPU is pinned during the test.

4/10 review. Highly misleading.

You think Daves videos are highly misleading? I couldn't disagree further. I understand your stance with your post but Dave is a highly respectable figure on YouTube with 1.8 million subscribers and generally knows what he is discussing especially in regards to Apple products and various other computers. Dave was the original YouTuber to discuss the i9 "Throttlegate" with the infamous "put the laptop in the freezer" for faster render times as well as even benchmarked the heck out of that machine in one of his videos so to call his work misleading is definitely off the deep end.
