I still use my 1st Generation shuffle, I grab audiobooks from YouTube, import them into iTunes, and transfer them to my shuffle to listen to while I'm working in the yard. Shockingly the thing still holds a pretty good charge, hours of use before the battery runs out. Anyone ever replaced a battery on one of these things? I see it can be done on iFixit, but I don't know if I'd have the skill to do it myself.

From the watch? You want a headphone cable going to your wrist?

I had the first and last. I used the last until about a year ago, with Bluetooth headphones it made more sense to just use my watch in the gym.

I would have had the same reaction until I saw it in use.

I saw a guy on a plane wearing his iPod nano on his wrist (the original Apple Watch), with a set of headphones plugged into it. It really wasn’t as awkward as I thought it would be. The guy wasn’t restrained or inconvenienced by the wire in any way, which basically ran down his arm and moved with it.

Of course, that’s not ideal for every situation. But on a plane it actually made a lot of sense, compared to say plugging into any other audio device. When I’m plugged into my phone, I either have to hold it in my hand, or find a pocket big enough to hold it, or when standing it pulls the headphones out of my ears when in my pants pocket. Wireless is a better solution, but most of the time I’m using wired headphones with the inflight entertainment system anyway.
