You know I would never post a video or pictures on here for others to see. You think you're doing some folks a favor by sharing but all you get is a bunch of complainers and whiners. The members of this group never fail to amaze me. Sometimes I think the average age must be about 16.

Too true. Except the part about avg age. These are grown-ass adults you're dealing with. Physically grown that is...

Besides, these msg boards are tame compared to others I've frequented. Most of the annoying folk on here seem to be the pedantic nerdy type. Haughty, rude and antisocial, but not as crude nor violent as elsewhere.

meta data has GPS cords

I noticed that too. Is there a simple way to strip that out for things like posting online? All the raw movies posted today have basically told the world where their house is.

I honestly feel the camera and video are the two biggest features of the new device. I'll take much more pictures with it than ever with this level of quality.

I agree. I was waiting to see the picture/video quality before deciding to buy. It'll be my first iPhone. I've been waiting for a device that I can use for calls, games, GPS, browsing, video, and pictures -- and do them well -- for a long time. Being able to consolidate so many devices into one is a big deal to me.

Can anybody give any info on file sizes for HD video shot on the iPhone 4? My wife and I are getting the 16GB and 32GB versions, and I can't decide which I should take for myself.

Looking at the posted video, about 4.7 GB per hour.

Don't think iMovie is planned for simultaneous release. Apple has it as "coming soon"

Dang, I was gonna have such a a good use for it this weekend.

You can disable that in iOS4 if you want to. Probably would be good to have an option to strip out that info when uploading though.
Yeah that would be nice. As it is the OP is just transmitting their location with each uploaded, RAW, video.

video is not so good as i thought, the rolling shutter effect on fast movements makes the video useless, very sad.

Seriously, "useless"? You couldn't find ANY use for this quality of video ON A PHONE?

Not Jerky

You know what you would see if that video was shot with a Droid Incredible? In both HD and standard video, it's jerky. Stutters. Drops frames. And on top of that it's not even 30 frames/sec.

Just so you know.

Thanks, I'm at work right now and they block videos so I couldn't see it. :)

You'll love the iPhone 4. When I consolidated from an iPod, Palm T|X, and Motorolla RAZR to the original iPhone, it was awesome. I can't wait for Thursday morning.

Resolution looks good in HD. The video seems to have a lot of frame stuttering. I don't think that's its the user. Looks like rolling shutter to an extent.

I'm assuming that's because it's shooting 30 progressive frames per second as opposed to 60 interlaced fields per second which results in a motion that's similar to a film camera running at 24 fps.

As I saw the first movie taken with an iphone 4 from a czech site a week ago I was too naive to think it could replace my camcorder, this video just got me back to reality, so I have to say: yes for a cellphone it's ok.

Wanna make a good movie?

Don't pan, don't zoom, unless you're making an episode of Streets of San Francisco. It's 2010 > cut

hm, i wonder if the guy used a software with video stabilizing feature like imovie'09 has, it might be able to improve the video.
