I am now leaning towards getting the Sierra Blue and returning the silver I have coming tomorrow. I thought the Pacific Blue was too dark. I am really liking the look of the lighter blue this year. I really like the way the contrast of the lighter back and darker colored sides looks.

The fact that you have to touch the screen to get the wallpaper animation to work is one of the most hilariously ridiculous things Apple has ever done. Its up there with the lightning connector on the Pencil.
So true, I never bothered with these live wallpapers. When I think "Live" I would've thought it would be animated by itself, who the heck would tap their phone to see the same freakin' animation again and again. How boring!

Sierra blue looks greyer in the photos than in real life. I can’t capture the colour properly (with my iPad Pro). It’s not far off but in real life it‘s slightly more blue.

Genuinely curious if *anybody* is receiving a 13 Pro Max on launch day. I have a feeling Apple still managed to fall victim to supply chain issues, because even though I had Apple Business Team pre-order last Friday, it looks like I'm still not getting mine until the middle of October...
Huh?

I have the 256 Sierra 13 pro max in my town now. Waiting for delivery tomorrow

Curious to know if anyone went down a size to the Pro when they upgraded from their previous model.

Guess many people who complain about the weight of the Pro Max probably never owned the bigger Plus iPhone models considering the specs at Apple's website state that it's ~1 ounce difference between the older Plus models vs Pro Max model, which closely match each other.
Can anyone honestly state they feel the difference of ~1 ounce or is it just their perception based on the size & appearance?

I hope this is true for the 13 and 13 mini, too. My 12 mini was unnaturally warm and I’ve never gotten used to it.
Was your mini a launch day one, or close to it? The mini I got for Mother’s Day in May is just about perfect and my closer to launch day one is a bit warmer and more washed out. But it’s something you’d notice only with them next to each other. I think Apple got a handle on earlier display issues.

It was a launch day. I held my old iPhone X with True Tone on next to the 12 mini with True Tone off, and the mini still looked warmer.

Yeah I think that got adjusted because my later mini display is crisp pure white. I actually had a number of larger launch day iPhones to compare like my husband’s and my daughter’s and one I returned and those earlier ones were a bit more yellow and faded in a way that’s hard to describe. My 12 Pro Max that I’m trading away has a very “meh” display. It’s got the green tinge when displaying dark scenes in a dark room. All our launch day ones have that. I said I wasn’t getting a launch day phone ever again but here I am, waiting for a 12 Pro.

I’ve had multiple models of the Mini, 12, and Pro, from launch day to as recently as a few weeks ago. Every one of them was too yellow in certain environments, even with True Tone off. I do agree there was a difference in some of them, so maybe Apple did tweak it a bit. But I would never describe any of them in any environment as crisp pure white, and I’m looking forward to hopefully improved tuning in the 13 line.

I actually noticed a mild improvement to the yellow tint on my 12 mini between iOS 14.8 and 15 immediately after upgrading. It’s not as cool as my X, but it looks slightly better than before.

the worst case design ever, dust and lint magnet right around the lenses…

Unless the case is hermetically sealed around the lenses, there will always be dust/lint that settles there, regardless of the case design. Nothing you can do about it except just clean it once in a while.

Or don’t use a case. I’ve never used one and it’s been just swell.

Then dust and lint will get over the whole phone 🤣 Of course, it's no big deal, as these phones are sealed nice and tight and are easy to clean, but I just thought it was funny that other poster thought the case design had anything to do with dust and lint getting on the camera bump.

I thought he was more concerned with it wedging in the crack between the case and the lenses.

This will be interesting since I ordered mine through AT&T. My fiancé got her shipping confirmation for her Pro, but my Pro Max is saying preparing to ship with a delivery date of 9/24

Not been a problem with my 12 Pro + Apple leather case. Again, Apple cases aren't hermetically sealed - ANY edge on the case can get dust underneath it. Easy enough to take the case off every once in a while and give everything a quick wipe down.
