First Impressions From New iPhone 13 and 13 Pro Owners

We’ve all seen the strawman a million times on here, and it’s always a new poster. Someone says “great new color” about a phone or “there are new emoji” about an operating system, and someone pretends that the post said “the only new thing is the new color” or “the best thing is the new emoji” and writes “if that’s the best thing, then [apple sucks -or- I’m not buying this product -or- Tim Cook is a beancounter]. It’s really quite tedious.

These new colors and form factor design make me convinced that the redesigned MacBook Pro are gonna have the same design and possibly the same colors. If the iMac and the iPhones all have similar colors and form factor design and Apple likes to keep their hardware lineup looking similar generation to generation, what would prevent them from releasing redesigned MacBook Pros with similar colors and form factor design?

Apple has released new phone colors many times in the past, and never bothered to match the MBP (at best they matched color *names* but the colors usually were not very close)

What? Macrumors created a “news” about the first impressions but 90% of it are “wow these colors”

What else would a “first” impression be? By definition it can only be “it looks like this” or “it feels like this in the hand.” You actually have to take some time and get a second or third impression before you can comment on most anything else.

Well, they‘ve *never* conformed MacBook pros to iphone designs despite having gone through many iterations of iphone designs. I think we’ll see the MBPs looking a little more ipad-pro-like this time around, though, but we’ll see.

It's gonna have a squared-off design, like the iMac and maybe even borrow the larger Apple logo on the back of the lid, like the iMac as well...

Yes, all indications are it will be square off (like stacking two ipad pros on top of each other), but who knows about the logo or much else. We’ve been hearing rumors for so long about these things…
 
The Macro camera on the Pro is impressive. Yes it does jump around a bit just like the reviewers complained but it's better than any magnifying glass I own. Great for my old eyes and more convenient as I now always have my best magnifier on me!

The other thing of note is that the SIM tray is oriented differently from my iPhone X tray. Tighter too. I had to sand paper the edges of my SIM card!

The Sierra blue changes colour depending on lighting. It was a nice ice blue when I first saw it outside but now, in my office, it's more grey.

Significantly thicker than my iPhone X which now feels very dainty and delicate next to the Pro. Thicker devices; is that a manifestation of Sir Johnny's departure? :) I love the banded "iPhone 4" design which is his classic masterpiece.
 
Well…we have the “unboxing” news from the Testers/Youtubers where they already freak out about the colors. The first impression from “users” or real customers can’t be just about the colors. Sure they post about it on social media but I wouldn’t dedicate a whole news about, when we already had the “unboxing ones” . The new phones have a brand new display, you would see almost immediately the promotion display, or you turn on the camera after turning it on.
Sorry but why the colors? You will never see it again after you snap the case on, well maybe the day you sell it. I just don’t get the focus about this useless stuff.
Sure I want the color I like the most, but then again…if there is only pink or gold left…i buy it, snap a case around it and thats it, it’s not really that important.

Again, I’m not sure what you think “first impression” means. But if you are a sighted person, and you are opening a box and finding an iphone, it’s hardly surprising that your first impression would have to do with what the iphone looks like.

If I get an iPhone 13 I'm definitely getting a third party case that fully covers the camera module. I've seen a few out there.

this video shows the lip on the cases. That’s lame design. I mean cases used to let you lay your phone flat but not anymore I guess.

Not sure I really care all that much. I've had a lip on my cases for years and if it weren't for Macrumors I wouldn't even have noticed.

The thousands of us getting our Pro Max phones on launch day are likely a big part of why you’re having to wait. ;)

A Sierra Blue MBP! That’d be awesome. One can dream but I doubt it will be reality.

Mine is on the truck and should be here soon, 256gb ProMax Sierra.
