It somehow looks cheaper in real life than it does with Apple's photography. The way he pulled it out of the box it just looked like some cheap light plastic watch. I'm waiting to see the comments from people who own it over the next few days.

If you live near an Apple store you can just try it on.. I've tried it on and it feels far from cheap. Even the sports version feels like good quality.
Confirmed. Sports looks and feels anything but cheap. Stainless Steel feels and looks like a luxury product.
I'm sorry, why is that surprising to you? Apple has said from day you MUST have an iPhone 5 or newer in order to USE the Apple Watch.
I might go and have a look next week, I'm in no hurry, can't see me getting one of these, I get annoyed when I have to replace a battery on my Seiko every few years.
I expect that the slow transfer speeds have more to do with the bluetooth channel between the phone and watch. Theoretical maximum transfer speed for Bluetooth 4 (discounting wifi) is 25 Mb/s. 1 GB at 25 Mb/s is a 5:20 transfer, assuming optimal conditions (which you'll never get).
Bottom line: initial transfers are always going to be slower than we might like. Temper your expectations with a dose of reality and you'll be happier knowing your collection of however much music you want to carry with you is zipping over the air as fast as currently possible.
I have one on my car. I think it's the only one out of I don't know how many I have gotten in packages. Honestly Apple would probably save money not including them in everything and just handing them out for free at the retail stores.

No one had a 4/24 confirmation for any watch. Some (and apparently you) had a 4/24 to 5/8 range. And just because you aren't getting it first day, you cancel? Obviously great for someone else but that was a dumb move. Now you won't get on till June.
Correct - 4/24 to 5/8. And now some with June confirmations have tracking info. I will not be buying one due to this on principle. Voting with $.
Also, it's a huge gift to anyone directly in line behind me for that model. I just moved them up 1!

The basic minimal packaging will help Apple make even more profits. It's geeky looking which will remind buyers it's not a luxury watch. A distinction unique to Apple.
I am not aware of anyone with an identical order from a later date getting it before someone with an earlier date... we've seen that different combinations have different wait times, depending on what was more popular... but that seems perfectly normal to me. If I order an iPad Mini and you order an iPad we are obviously in different lines.
You can call it a tantrum. If you want. I disagree with the process so I voted with my money. Simple economic decision.
And that's fine. But with 38 combinations you have to realize some more popular models will take longer to back fill on the orders. This happens with iPhones to, so I really o don't see what the big deal is to wait the extra 14 days before canceling.
You can vote with your money, but Tim, Angela, etc aren't caring about the few cancellations becuase they know this is a blockbuster.
Do what you want but I believe that was a poor choice unless you were already on the fence.

This is a very weak excuse to dismiss the potential of Apple Watch.Good choice, please tell all your friends and family to vote with their money as well. Maybe it will move us up a few spots.
If many of us cancel and don't buy, it will be felt. If you feel it was a poor choice to cancel, then I would advise you not to cancel your own order.
You right if a ton of people do that, then yes it will be felt. But other then you and a couple of other posters, cancellations just aren't occurring.
Also. I didn't order a Watch, other priorities, but when do order something and expect it at certain or place. I don't whine and cancel the product, I call the company complain and normally the company will help you out.
I had a friend have the same thing your were talking about. He called Apple, the dropped $50 off his order.
They dropped $100 of my first gen iPod touch order for the same reason.
I preordered, didn't get on launch day and Apple stores had plenty of stock.
Sounds like he was just looking for a reason to back out. If I wanted something I'd be willing to wait for it. A couple of extra weeks isn't a big deal and who cares if someone got theirs before me? A bit silly if you ask me. I don't buy on principles, I buy on want and need.
