He works for 9to5Mac, but I have yet to see him even acknowledge it, let alone declare it fake.
Also add on the fact that he has admitted he isn't even going to WWDC, seems rather odd that someone so well connected to Apple isn't invited by Apple to WWDC and the company he works for aren't even sending him.

Wow at anyone who thinks that iPhone 6 video is real.

WOW

He enter the raffle and didn't get a ticket. Whats he supposed to do?

I'd say that banner in the hall hangs upside down…

It's not rain. It's the rays of light refracting through the water:

Apple reserves places for the press. He isn't a developer, he's part of the press or a blogist if you like.

By the way, 9-5Mac are attending WWDC, but they aren't sending him.

yeah, the big players like NYT, WSJ etc. and people like Gruber, not every site and not 9to5Mac.
So if this guy is so well connected to Apple and Apple shares information with him then how come Apple haven't reserved a place for him? Also why would they share information with him and not the big players who if money was the motivating factor behind would probably be able to offer more than 9-5Mac?

The reason is because this guy isn't connected, yes he's predicted a lot of thing right but thats because he has carefully observed every rumour and made an educated guess upon whats going to happen.

Also assuming he was connected then what makes you think Apple aren't double bluffing him? If Apple told him that the WWDC would show the iPhone 6 they know he would blab about it, but if they wanted to make it a 'One more thing' then telling him there isn't going to be an iPhone 6 at WWDC would mean he would tell everyone that there wasn't and when there is one shown everyone is surprised.

Lets put it this way, if him and everyone else who claim to be in the know from Apple actually were then they would have made millions off stocks.

Yes I agree, I was just commenting on the overall design of that banner. If I had hired someone to create me a banner and he comes back with a clipart background with a lonely number on it, I would feel that I over-paid :D

It is a matter of taste. Personally I love simplicity and last 2 years banners IMO were the best by far! No need to make it busy with taglines/bells and whistles!

Seems to me that all the blurry pic from Asia were ever far more accurate than this so called annalists. I will laugh til I poop if the "heathbook" app does not look like what Mark Gurman believes as certain..

They are rays of lights through water! It's shocking people struggle to get this!!

You think Apple is purposely leaking info to him? lol!

Did he just make up Healthbook out of thin air? that was a pretty good guess!

What will you do if it looks exactly the same?

Why are people lashing out at Gurman because it's highly unlikely a new iPhone will be announced on Monday? If you are expecting one prepare to be disappointed.

Well someone is leaking to him but I highly doubt it's officially coming from Apple. And Apple seems to have plugged leaks better this year. Last year we had leaks on iOS 7 but I have yet to see a screen shot of anything from OSX this year. I suppose it could still come tomorrow or Monday but since Gurman already put up his WWDC roundup post I'm not expecting it.

No one knows how Healthbook will look until it's released, all he really seems to be going on is how Passbook looks.

He doesn't get his information from Apple, it gets it from people in the supply chain, possibly people who have worked on the project, even then the detail software wise are vague.
He doesn't know for sure whats going to happen at WWDC, he might have an idea but thats all he has. If the people who leaked this supposed video of the conference test run had sold the video to him and 9-5Mac then I'm sure he would be up there now claiming that the iPhone 6 is being announced on Monday.

I'm not lashing out at him, I'm just say that he's just as clueless as us. I'm not saying the iPhone 6 is or isn't going to be announced on Monday, just saying that what he says should be taken with a pinch of salt.

They are called annalists because the analyse rumors and what not... If they were passing true information about the products that are going to be released they would be called informers. That said, me and all you, are as much of an annalist as they are..

Mark Gurman said this about iOS8:

"The iOS 8 banner basically shows the 8 drifting underwater. Kind of like how Apple engineers feel right now trying to finish up the beta 1."

LOL, don't you think that if Apple were really struggling to finish it, they would put up that banner ?! Really ?!

9to5's mockups of iOS 7 icons last year were almost dead on. This year his predictions don't appear to be as solid but that could be because Apple has done a better job of stopping the leaks, or they're really that far behind and a lot of things are still up in the air. Gurman said on Twitter that Apple was still finalizing iOS 8 beta 1 on Friday.

Yes, that's exactly when I'm saying.

This year he seems to be a lot less certain about his predictions. There's a lot of hesitation. Not sure if that's because Apple really is scrambling to get this stuff done or they're doing a better job of plugging leaks or giving out misdirection.

No, they're called analyst. He's not an analyst, he's a journalist and you're misinterpreting his tweet.

This is the iOS 6 banner.

I don't see much similarity. At least Apple stopped using that "world's most advanced operating system" tagline.

I tend to agree with others that the banner signals under the hood changes. I don't see the design changing much.

The water part is what I was referring to.
